Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I have that same error. And my inks are not running or dripping. I had my network hacked by Microsoft using virtual updates across all my notebooks and desktops.
It was during a particularly tough back and forth with Microsoft security and their help desk because they refused to answer what "Panther" and Winsxs were used for, not a best case example but the spectrum of uses. Then my HP "failed me" as did my other printers and 4 computers.

Try uninstalling the driver and reinstall the latest version for your printer. You can find the latest version driver for your OS from the HP website downloads page.: http://hp.com
Make sure that you use only genuine HP inks and not refills/generic cartridges, which can also cause this issue.
If neither works, try HP tech support for a resolution, or go through their FAQ pages for your printer.
