Question about GE 60minute Automatic ShutOff Timer Switch 15069

1 Answer

I bought a Westek TM77DHB Automatic Timer and the instructions that I received were not only cut in half (with the other half missing) but they were in Spanish. I have no idea how to this. Someone please help!

I don't need to connect wires, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear in my original inquiry. I just need to know how to use it. The timers that I've seen have 2 arrows (or clips), one that you put on the current time and the other for when the timer actually comes on. This timer only has one so I have no idea how to use it.

You're correct, the google translate is very helpful, I use it for many things but I only have half of the instruction page so that's a "no go".
    Thanks for your help.

You are replacing switch with 2 wires

One of these wires goes to timer black wire
The other wire goes to timer red wire
When finished, if these two wires are reversed the timer will not work, so go back and switch them

The green wire connects to bare ground wire
Timer white wire connects to white neutral wire

For details how to connect wires:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Programmable.html#wire

Once the timer is wired, the slide switch has to be moved to far right.
Turn dial to start countdown.

Finally::
If you have Spanish and want English, you want Google translate >> it has helped me translate detailed electrical manuals written in Italian

This is the one thing that I dislike about this site. They made me choose a product that is "close" to mine with very few choices. That being said, I don't need to connect wires. It's a automatic timer for the lamp in my office. All of the timers I've had in the past for this have 2 clips or arrows. One being for the current time and the other for the time the light comes on.
This one doesn't have those, it only has one arrow for the current time.
As for the instructions, you're correct, I use Google translate all the time and it's very helpful but not so much when the instructions are cut in half and I only have one half of them. Very frustrating. Thanks so much for trying to help!

    Don't get frustrated.

I didn't read your question very well >> it was posted under the countdown timer.

All is well, we will recover.

I believe there are 48 plastic segments around outer edge of dial. These segments lift up and out to control on-off functions.

If this answer is not correct, will you please re-post your question. Take a photo of timer and post it on Imgur.com and then include link in your question so we can see your specific timer.

Geno_3245 you were right! I feel so silly that I had to ask the question about something so stupid. Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you! That was very helpful. Believe it or not, my instructions also were ripped, and had no idea about pulling up the segments to activate the on - off settings.

The Westek TM77DHB Automatic Timer operates differently from many other timers. The segments must be pulled UP for OFF times and pushed IN for ON times. In my case I only wanted the lamp ON for a short period so 95% of the segments were UP and only three were pushed IN for ON.

levittown, TM77 operates exactly like other analog timers. As a general rule, it is ez to quarterback older questions since hindsight is 20-20.
