This may be caused from copying files over to another gamertag in which you wouldnt get achievements now about not saving the memory may be full or the system itself is not detecting the drive for memory

I have the xbox hook up to my t.v. and they are saying i have to many profiles how do i get rid of the profiles that are on the xbox now

Go to:
>Settings (tab furthest to the right on the Dashboard)
>System
>Memory
>HDD (if that's where you save your gamer profiles; if not, choose one of the other options that may be listed to select your storage device)
>Gamer Profiles
From there, you can see exactly how many profiles you have and there should be an on-screen prompt that should tell you how to delete them (I think you have to hit Y).

**BE ADVISED**
Deleting your gamer profiles may result in the loss of saved game data and achievements linked to them unless the profiles are backed up in the Cloud via Xbox LIVE or on an external storage device.

I hope this helps you out.

I cant delete some of my profiles

  1. Go to Settings, and then select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select All Devices.
  4. Select Gamer Profiles.
  5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Select one of the following:
    • Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.
    • Select Delete Profile and Items to delete the profile and the associated saved games and achievements.

Failed to write gamer profile settings. ONe possible reason is if you removed your xbox 360 memory unit. Changes to your profile settings might not be saved

hi im a xbox live representative and the solution to this issue is to format the HDD; cause its corrupted, try to check the HDD for corrupted files it indicates that it has a yellow triangle with exclamation point on the middle, if almost all of the files are corrupted and then from there we can verify that the HDD was corrupted. You may also experience slow performance from the console; try mo move the uncorrupted files on a flash drive. Formatting solves this issue. Hope this helps.

My profile was randomly corrupted

Just delete the profile and recover it. As long as you ONLY remove the profile, all your saves will still work and no acheivements or friends will be lost.

Lost all acheivements both profiles and nothing will save

Hey that sucks. You could try to call 18004MYXBOX if you had LIVE and they may be able to recover your profile also go to the system blade and pick memory Press Y on the hard drive symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices? Hit yes If no sometimes things will actually say corrupted data

Ok we bought a new harddrive 120 gigs of memory and first it only had 117 but thats not the problem ... the problem is that when i tryed to look at an acheivment after we transfered everything over from...

Unfortunately without having a xbox live account all your achievements I'm afraid are lost. Next time before to link your account to at least a Silver membership (the free one) that way if you ever accidentally delete or lose your profile information, you can just recover your gamer tag from Xbox Live along with all your gamer info.

One more question though, does your 20gig hdd still contain your profile and gamer achievements? If so, you could most likely just copy it onto a memory card over to your 120gb hdd.

Also the reason its only 117gb, is the same reason all hdd are not the same size they are advertised. The manufacturer assumes 1000mB = 1GB when in reality 1024mB = 1GB. So 120,000mB (which is the physical size of the hard drive) divided by 1024mB = ~117GB.

My gamerscore shows up on the "my xbox" screen but....

Sounds like someone has modded equipment, or your victim of a malicious other. Now I have idea of why this could happen. Your memory is full, you've been hacked, You have modded your 360. Of course it seems like your 360 is automatically downloading things from live and is deleting your items, this although unlikely is a suspect. Here's a few part solutions:
1.If you've modded your 360 I'm sorrry I can't help
2.If you've givin' your information out recently, then you should call microsoft and they'll lock your account while they investagate
3.Delete some items
4. Disable live from automatically downloading things

Then again this sounds more like a problem eminating from the system itself, You may have to trade it in, But if all else fails tell Microsoft. Good luck

Gamer Profile

Once you connect your Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system, you'll be ready to start using it. Initial setup is simple: set your default language, create your gamer profile, and you're off and running. The first time you turn on your Xbox 360 console you'll be prompted to set a default language. Use your controller's left stick and the A button to select a language for your console. Note You can change language and other console settings (including time, audio, display, and automatic shutdown) in the System area of the Xbox Dashboard. Once you've set your language, you're ready to create your gamer profile. To start playing games as quickly as possible, choose Create an Offline Profile. If you already have an Xbox Live membership, choose I Am a Member of Xbox Live. If you're not yet a member of Xbox Live but know you're ready to join, choose I Want to Join Xbox Live. Note To access Xbox Live, your Xbox 360 system must be connected to the Internet, directly or through a network, with a high-speed (cable or DSL) connection.
