Why does my new Honda CB always show RX receiving transmission no matter where squelch is set?

if this is on a Goldwing, it appears that you have a shorted pin int he connector. Disconnect the radio and make sure all of the pins are straight and connecting properly.

No TX/ rx Radio Shack TRC-495

it probably jumped freq. somehow. There is now manual or anything but a picture of this radio and a few tune up rv's but thats it.I have the exact same radio and it works fine If you can put it on an oscilloscope it should tell you right away what the problem is. Then try a frequency counter.

Tx rx

the problem you now have is probably going to cost you more money to fix than the radio is worth. Could be a quick simple fix or you could be at it for hours trying to fix it. you will need a scope, frequency counter, watt meter, modulation meter, signal generator, volt meter, distortion meter, and a service manual from

Why wont my scanner model 60 channel pro-2029 scan

Hi Chad,

Do you have any frequencies programmed into your radio scanner?

If not, then that is why you're not receiving anything.

If on the other hand you do have frequencies programmed, are they the correct frequencies for your location?

Are the frequencies the Tx or Rx frequencies that you programmed, The Tx frequencies are the correct frequencies to program, as Rx is the mobile(usually) Tx frequencies, and unless you're within 5 miles of that mobile, you won't hear it, and you certainly won't hear the base transmissions, unless it's a high powered Simplex Frequency.

I hope this has been useful to you.

Cheers,
Peter

I have an Icom v-8000 radio. The TX is very good with 75 watts out-put. But have nothing in RX.No signal and no audio.

Hi,
What you have is an amateur band radio, which requires you to be a licensed operator to use it. It is possible that the frequencies have been removed from the eeprom prior to your purchasing same.
You can have Rx only frequencies programmed by an authorised 2-way workshop, but until you become a qualified amateur operator, you will not be able to get Tx frequencies programmed.

For licensing info for Amateur operators visit www.vk6wia.org.

Peter

Hi I have a Cobra 75 WX-ST radio. It is currently displaying radio frequencies instead of channels. How do I correct this.

Push and hold the memory key for 3 seconds to change back to displaying channels instead of frequencies. Do it again and it will go back to frequencies on the display.

Magnum 257 6 digit display

To tune frequencies in either 10 kHz or 100 kHz increments,
press the STEP button until the desired digit is
flashing. Rotate the FREQUENCY control in either direction.
The entire frequency range of the Magnum 257
can be stepped through in 10 or 100 kHz increments.
To tune in 1 kHz increments, press the STEP button
until the 1 kHz digit flashes on and off. Rotate the FREQUENCY
control. NOTE: When stepping in 1 kHz increments,
you are limited to tuning within a 10 kHz
frequency range.
