If you are running Windows just click Start >> All Programs and look in the list for Safari. Right click the program and then click Create Shortcut. If you are running Mac then click Applications find Safari and left click and drag it to the desktop or the dock.

How to delete genieo

If you value your privacy, and the stability of your computer, then don't follow any suggestions that include using the genieo adware uninstaller : it leaves active software behind.

The company know this, but seem unable or unwilling to resolve it.

Instead, try to carefully follow the instructions at

• From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Home from the drop-down menu. This will take you to your Home folder.

• Locate and open the Library folder

• Within Library folder look for the Preferences folder and open it.

• Locate and remove to the Trash, these files:
com.apple.Safari.plist

Once you have removed these files, then click the back button on your open Finder window. This will return you to the Library view.

• Locate and Trash the folder entitled Caches

Once you have done that, close all windows, click on the Apple menu icon located in the upper left corner of your screen and select Logout <username>, so you can log out of your user account.

*Once you are logged out, simply log back in. This actions will restore all the files and folders you just trashed, with new copies of each of them.

I need to reinstall Safari for XP. I deleted (uninstalled Safari this morning and now need to reinstall it.

To Download Safari:
1) Go to http://www.apple.com/safari/
2) Click "Safari 5 Free Download"
3) Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Keep me up to date... etc."
4) Be sure the button labeled "Safari 5.0.4 for Windows XP, Vista or 7" is selected
5) Click the blue button labeled "Download Now"
6) On the popup window, click the button labeled "Save"
7) Navigate to your desktop in the new window and click "Save" once more

To Install Safari:
1) Double click the icon which reads "SafariSetup.exe" on your desktop
2) Windows XP MAY ask if you're sure you wish to run this program depending on your security settings. If you see this popup, click "Yes" or "Run".
3) Click "Next"
4) Click the button labeled "I accept the terms in the license agreement"
5) Click "Next"
6) Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Install Bonjour for Windows" unless you are absolutely sure you need this additional program.
7) Click "Install"
8) Click "Finish"

Safari is now installed on your machine. Keep in mind that deleting an icon from your desktop does not uninstall a program. If you accidentally delete your desktop icon, this can easily be replaced through the start menu.

3. Click the 'Delete' button and delete the Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History.

5. Access your e-mail.

1. Run Firefox and hit 'Tools' menu.
2. Go to 'Clear Recent History' and click the drop-down arrow for 'Time range to clear'.
3. Select 'Everything' and then click the line beside details.
4. Check browsing & download history, form & search history, cookies, cache.
5. Click "Clear Now" button.
6. Close and re-open Firefox.
7. Access your e-mail.

* For Safari:

1. Open the Safari.
2. Click the Safari menu (right beside the Apple icon) and select "Empty Cache".
3. When asked "Are you sure you want to empty the cache?", click "Empty".
4. Click the Safari menu (right beside the Apple icon) then go to "Preferences".

My mac book pro now has two safari icons. one on the dock and one on the screen. i can't get rid of one of them, please help.

If you want to get rid of the Safari icon on your dock:
just click on the Safari icon and drag it away from the dock, then let go of the icon.
It should just disappear.

If you want to get rid of the Safari icon on your screen (I'm assuming on your desktop):
-open a new Finder window (Finder> New Window)
-click on the Safari icon on your desktop and drag it to the Finder window, where it says "Applications", then let go of the icon
- it should disappear from your desktop

Can't open my yahoo mail

First, verify if the user name and password you are using are correct. It would be better to try accessing your Yahoo Mail in another computer, so that you could verify if the problem is your user name or password, or it could be the internet browser that you are using.

If you could access your Yahoo mail in another computer, then you need to clear the cookies, cache, internet files, and browsing history of your internet browser from the computer that you are having a problem.

Here's how:

* For Internet Explorer:

1. Run Internet Explorer and click on 'Tools' menu.
2. Go to Internet Options and locate the Browsing History section.
3. Click the 'Delete' button and delete the Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History.
4. Close the Internet Explorer and re-open it.
5. Access your e-mail.

* For Mozilla Firefox:

* For Safari:

1. Open the Safari.
2. Click the Safari menu (right beside the Apple icon) and select "Empty Cache".
3. When asked "Are you sure you want to empty the cache?", click "Empty".
4. Click the Safari menu (right beside the Apple icon) then go to "Preferences".
5. From the security dialog box, click "Bookmarks".
6. Click on "Show Cookies" button and then hit "Remove All" button.
7. Select "Done".

Thank you and good luck!

Screen shows wrong URL Safari won't load.

By the way you are stating your issue, I am not sure if you are referring to Safari loading to an incorrect URL and that it is not launching. So to make sure I cover all bases I will provide advice for both.

If Safari is loading to a URL when you first launch it, assuming you are referring to the URL of the Home page you need to see, all you have to do there is launch Safari, click on the Safari name in the menu, select Preferences.
* Then under General> "Home page:", make sure the home URL is set to the web address you want to see as your home page.

If Safari is not launching on the other hand, here is what you need to do in order to resolve that issue:

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} • From your desktop,
•Click anywhere on a blank space on your desktop. Now you should see Finder listed near the Apple menu icon.

• From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Home from the
drop-down menu. This will take you to your Home folder.
• Locate and open the Library folder
• Within Library folder look for the Preferences folder and open it.

• Locate and remove to the Trash, these files:
com.apple.Safari.com
com.apple.Safari.RSS.com.
Now click the back button in the Finder window to go back to the Library view.
* Locate and remove to the Trash, the folder entitled "Caches"

* Once you have done that, close all windows and other applications, click on the Apple menu icon and select from the drop down menu Logout<username>.
This will take you to the main login window
* simply log back in to the same user account.

Don't attempt to launch Safari, just yet. Instead run this last procedure to repair file/folder permission on your Mac OS X volume (including Safari)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
font.f1 {font: 13.0px Myriad Pro} -RUN DISK UTILITY FIRST-

Go to Finder Menu bar
• Click Go > Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility app.
• Click on Macintosh HD volume (or on the name you have changed
this volume to.)
• Select "Repair Disk Permissions"
**Let Disk Utilities run this repair permissions until completion
- This is not often a necessary step, but in the many of the hands-on software and Mac OS X troubleshooting

* Once Disk Utility is complete and there are no errors in red in the completion summary (if there are errors listed in red, re-run DU to see if those error will clear- if they don't reply back to this post right away and let me know what the exact error message is), quit Disk Utility.

• Now relaunch Safari and let's see if it launches ok for you.

If this is still not resolving the issue you are having with Safari, just let me know.

Regards,

-Mactechtrainer
