This process will erase ALL data. Your music, email, pictures, documents and other important files will be deleted.
Make a backup of everything you need to keep, before starting Advent Recovery.
To recover your Advent:
As soon as you press the power button on the computer, press F8
You will see an Advanced Boot Options menu screen, select Repair Your Computer
Once the recovery program has loaded, select Reinstall Windows
On the next screen select Start Full Destructive Recovery
Another screen will be shown and you will need to put a tick into the box to start recovery. It will also give you another warning about data loss.
Press the arrow that points to the right and the process will begin automatically
Your computer will take around 30-45 minutes to complete this and can be left to get on with it. Once finished, Windows will be reinstalled and your computer will be just like the day you bought it.

Dell system includes a restore utility called 'Dell Symantec System Restore' to reset or restore your Dell system to factory setting. This utility is convenient because you're not forced to use the Windows startup CD to restore your computer.

Step 1: First backup all your important data and restart your computer.
Step 2: Press 'F8' if you are using Win7/Vista or 'Ctrl + F11' if you has Win Xp. 'Advanced Boot Option' menu options will be opened.
Step 3: Choose 'Repair your computer' from the 'Advanced Boot Options' from the menu and press 'Enter'.
Step 4: Select language setting and press 'Enter'. Now Login window will be appeared.
Step 5: Now login as administrator to continue the factory reset process.
Step 6: Click 'Dell Factory Image Restore' followed by the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Choose the check box marked 'Yes, reformat disk drive and recover system software to manufacturer condition'. Once the check box is chosen, simply select the 'Next' button and your Dell computer/laptop is renewed to factory setting.

How do i reset advent milano to factory settings?

Hi there!
There are two ways to start the recovery:
Restart your computer. Then Press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting System Recovery" is displayed. Just follow the instructions on the screen to restore your computer
In Windows by clicking: Start / All Programs / System Recovery / System Recovery.
The recovery will load and display a box with one option:
Non-destructive recovery: this option will restore Windows, supplied applications, and drivers. This option will not destroy your documents or programs. These will be backed up along with the registry. These are restored at the end of the recovery process.
To access the recovery options below that erase all data from the computer, click the Advanced button.
System Recovery - No format: this will reinstall Windows, supplied applications and drivers. It will move your files to a folder called "My old disk structure". Any applications (except those supplied) will need to be reinstalled.
System Recovery - Quick format: this option will erase your hard drive including your personal files. Windows, supplied applications and drivers will be reinstalled.
Select the Non-destructive recovery option and press Next. You will be informed about System Restore in Windows, click Yes.
The recovery will begin. Once this is complete click Restart.
Hope this helps.

Would like to set it back tofactory settings

start up the computer and in the bio's there should be an option to press a key like F9 or something to open the repair console...from this menu choose re-set to factory settings...there should be a backup partition on acer hard drives to restore it back...

if this dosn't work bang in an OS cd - boot it up from the bios and follow the on screen instructions - drivers that are not installed will be avalible from acer's website - they are quite good for downloading them
