Well it will not hurt you're board if that's what you want to know. Depends what devices you have plugged into the board. If you're running 4 serial ATA SATA's. Two CD/DVD drives. A floppy drive & an AGP 8x graphics card. The 400w should do just fine. (You can never run too high a PSU source).
I'm running 4 serial ATA 7200rpm SATA's, 2 DVD-ROM's, a floppy drive. 1 PCI-E graphics card. Four, 4" case fans. Skt 939 Dual core 4200+ CPU & my 550w has been stable for over 2 years.

Have a great weekend!

I do not have any sound device showing. I rebboted windows from the cd to clean my computor and because it stopped working. All my updates have arrived now up to Service pack 2 but i have no sound? I have...

When you say you "rebooted windows from the CD" do you mean you re-installed Windows?

If so, you will need to download and install the drivers specific to your system from the Abit website.

(Link is for the A17 motherboard)

Download the audio drivers (and the others while you are there) and install them.

Hope this helps,
