Have you checked to ensure the monitors video cable is connected? Sounds like a no video problem.

Desktop: Gateway LX6810-01 PC will not power on. When I hit the Power button on the tower, a long continuous BEEP comes on and nothing appears on the monitor. After the BEEP, the On light (on tower)...

Thank you for using FixYa

I would try shutting down the computer in the normal way, and turning off the monitor.
Boot up and turn the monitor back on.
If it still doesn't work, then I would check the cables and power plugs and wall plugs.
Check the mouse and keyboard cable and any other cables plugged into the computer.
The next step requires a seperate monitor or laptop.
Try unplugging the monitor and pluging in another monitor. Most laptops have a common
VGA adaptor jack or even an Svideo jack.
If the other monitor does not work, Then take to a qualified technician for repair.
It could be your power supply in the computer or video controller.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

Computer will not load up - frozen on acer start screen?

Are you sure the monitor is plugged into the correct port? Also, check the monitor cable for bent pins. A small move shouldn't make this kind of difference. Eliminate that power strip and just plug the computer and monitor into an outlet.

Mouse and Keyboard wont work after booting system?

First thing I would try is System Restore.

Start
Programs
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore

And go back to a date before this morning. This should take care of your problem most of the time.

Now when you say the monitor was black... do you mean because of the screen saver/power settings turned it black? Or did it go out on its own? If on its own, sounds like it might be overheating. See if it works once cold.

My monitor will not turn on

Hi you didnt say whether you tried changing the plug fuse, try that,if it still doesnt work then the power cut you had might have been a power spike in which case the monitor would be destroyed.Try testing the fuse in the plug first ..ok.

Seems that your CPU-Cabinet is not giving the video output for your monitor. Please check the powercord and other internal assembly (if possible) that runs in and around the cabinet and restart the machine.
