SOURCE: ice tray stuck

Hi My Samsung freezer was nor a RB2155 it is a RS2630SH however after not making any ice because the tray was stuck in the upside down position or thereabout after 6 weeks it suddenly started making ice again, we had not done anything to it but we heard it dropping ice one evening and we had a look in the ice container and low and behold the ice box was full to the top, I would still like to know why it went like that in the first place in case it happens again it is a mystery. SOURCE: refrigerator doesnt get cold enough

If you remove the back panel on the inside of the cabinet then you would be able to check the evaporator coil (cold bit) and see if it is frozen up. If it is then defrost the system and see if you have any improvement. All the things you have pointed out over the compressor is normal, they do run incredibly hot. If you have got the freezer on a very cold setting I would suggest bringing both setpoints to a mid range setting. Check the temp in the fridge by measuring liquid temp as air temp is prone to fluctuate more. If you still have a concern I would suggest contacting a fridge guy to assist you. Hope this is of some if not limited help.

SOURCE: freezer not cold enough to freeze items solid

Here are some things you can check yourself. Does it run all the time almost non-stop? if so check the vents under the front of the frig and make sure they are clean. Aslo check the condenser coil (either in back of the frig,or under the frig)Make sure that coil is clean. The condenser coil has to have contact with the outside air in order to release the heat it removed from inside the freezer.
Make sure you frig has plenty of ventilation ( wall too close on sides and back) Hope this helped. If not then you should have a pro look at it.

SOURCE: ice build up on coil inside freezer

it can be two things the refrgerator probably has a small refrigerant leak therefore it ices up, or the defrosting heater on the begining of the coil is faulty.

Have replaced everything and ice maker still doesnt work model ed5shaxmb10

An ice maker has 3 basic tasks:
1. Call for water.
2. Freeze.
3. Harvest.
Then the cycle repeats. There will always be some sensors that determine timing of those tasks. Home units usually have a bin level sensor (often an arm that's lifted as the bin fills) that can be locked in the up position to disable the ice maker.

If it's calling for water but not freezing, make sure the condenser is clean. (Sometimes they look clean but are plugged in the middle.) It has to get down to nearly 0 degrees to efficiently make ice, if it's not getting cold enough you may need a tech to figure out why.

If there's ice in the tray but it's not harvesting, clean the tray, hard water deposits can make the cubes stick in the tray.

Why has It stopped making Ice

Is the ice maker getting water ?
Is the wire that senses that the ice tray has filled up down in the empty tray or up in the off position?

Is the freezer section cold enough to make ice ?
Is ice in the tray waiting to be dumped or water in the tray that is not freezing or is the tray dry ?

how can we answer when you give us no information.

Ice maker does not work how do I fix

Is freezer cold enough to freeze ice ?
There is a wire across the ice tray that must be down into the tray so the ice machine knows there is room for the next batch of ice in the tray.
If the wire is up in the off position ..no ice willbe dumped into the tray.
Is water being supplied to the ice machine ?

If all above is not the problem ..go online and buy a replacement ice machine.
The cost to fix old machine greater than cost of new machine.

Freezer icing up

Experienced this problem with Evaporator coil icing up (coil is located inside back wall of the freezer compartment; the ice/frost was visibly blocking the series of louvers or slots along the bottom of the freezer back wall. I think the power outage caused partial melting of an already somewhat iced coil, but when the power was restored the water on the coil just froze solid. When these slots become obstructed the Refrigerator will not cool to its proper 36-40 deg.F temperature and the compressor motor runs frequently and the noise level is louder than usual. SOLUTION: fastest and safest way to Defrost this iced up coil is: (1) turn off 120V power / unplug refrigerator from the outlet; (2) remove all food to another refrigerator / freezer and take out ice cube tray & flip icemaker bail wire to its up (off) position - but leave top freezer basket in-place; (3) remove Bottom freezer basket (which should lift up and out; (4) move refrigerator away from wall - and carefully unscrew and remove white-painted, rectangular metal panel at bottom in the back....... you will see a white plastic water tray below a small fan with black plastic blades...... have a 3x5 cellulose sponge and bucket handy...... (5) open freezer door all the way and set a 21-inch box fan on the floor in the opening or area where the Bottom freezer basket was removed... put a single towel on floor under the box fan if there is significant frost on the bottom of the freezer compartment (there should not normally be any); (5) turn the fan to "Medium" speed with air flow pointing toward the freezer... you will be amazed at how much faster this works than pans of hot water or hair dryers (the latter is potentially damaging and dangerous); (6) with a flashlight you should soon see the water drip-drip-dripping from a spot at the center and bottom of the Evaporator coil - where it goes down a white tube and into the white plastic pan beneath the small fan you saw in Step #4; after awhile (maybe 20 minutes) check the white plastic tray in the back - which will be full of water (sponge it out)... continue defrosting with the 21-inch box fan... check the plastic tray again - and sponge out the excess water. A completely iced-up coil will probably fill the plastic tray three times. Eventually the water will stop dripping - which means the Evaporator coil is completely defrosted. There may be some water that gets onto the floor under the left side of the refrigerator which you will have to wipe up. Reattach the metal panel and reinstall the Bottom freezer basket and ice tray. This process takes long enough that you can clean the inside of the refrigerator while you're at it.

Jenn-Air bottom freezer ice maker not working

I took the arm of the ice-making machine out of the slot and put it back in, pushing it snugly inside the slot, then raised and lowered it several times. Then, with the arm in the up (stop making ice) position, I felt inside the ice-making tray, where I noted there were ice cubes as well as a sheet of ice at the base of the ice-making tray. I poured approximately 24 oz. of hot tap water into the tray to melt the sheet of ice. I turned the freezer temp control to "warmer". I think the freezer temp setting was too cold, causing the ice maker to freeze the water before it could make cubes. I have a working ice maker again!

Water leaking from freezer compartment and ice maker not working properly

I figured it out. When the water filter gets old and plugged up, not enough water flows into the cube trays. You can fix the ice problem by replacing or just removing the filter. (The filter really isn't necessary unless your water comes from a well or some other undesirable source.) The filters cost about $40 from Sears, but you can find them on ebay for under $30 including shipping.

Not getting any ice

Im gonna be bold and take a stab at this problem. (since I dont see anyone else doing it).... Lets see, Has anyone tried turning the freezer setting down a notch? Try that and give it a day. My theory is; ALL ice makers have a thermostat in them and if they arent at the right temp than they will not go into the "haverest cycle". When you press that button you force it through that cycle. Therefore if your freezer is cold enough, The ice maker won't make ice! This could also be a sign of a BIGGER problem..... Things to look for to help solve problem;

**Can you hear a fan running in freezer?
**Is there any snowy frosted ice on back wall in freezer?(at the bottom area)

Some more info at my website at:

This will give ya a wee bit more information....

Installed replacement Icemaker but will not dump new ice...

Either your freezer is not cold enough or you got a defective ice maker. It needs to be 15 degrees or colder to make ice. The water may be frooze but not cold enough to close the internal thermostat inside the ice maker. If your freezer is colder that 15 degrees, take the ice maker back to Sears, you got a lemon. Good luck!, Mack
