Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why does my tv turn off and doesnt want to turn back on?!

This can be caused by many problems. If the problem is intermittent, It can be a temperature issue. Electronic components change their value when they are at a higher temp or a lower temp. That being said, a component(most likely an electrolytic capacitor) is responding to this. So that means when the TV is warm the capacitor works normally which means the TV works fine. When the TV has been off and cooled down, if it doesn't start up, that could be why. This is just one thought of many. See if the TV works in a warmer environment and post more details of the issue if you would like further help.

Need to know the values on the duel compositor

The info should be on the side of the capacitor. If its not, it will be hard to tell by the capacitor. You will need to get as much info from the compressor & fan motor. Then call a local parts house(s) and find someone who can look it up for you. Or the comp manufacturer.

I have a philips plasma that turns itself off, tryin replace the caps 2465 2508 2540 2541, ive found the 100uf 16v wot will happen if i put a different degree 105 instead of 85

A temperature rating is not an electrical rating, and will not directly affect the electrical characteristics of the circuit. Higher temperature ratings only mean that the component will withstand higher temperatures. This can help provide stability to the electrical characteristics when the circuit is exposed to the higher temperature, and of course provide better longevity as a result.

Most electrical / electronic components that have values that can be changed usually can be changed to HIGHER values, nearly never a lower one. Capacitors may be substituted with others that have higher ratings in temperature, accuracy and voltage. Their unit of measure is the farad. In some very specific cases, even the farad rating can be increased. Inductors are similar to capacitors. Their unit of measure is the Henry. The Henry value, like the farad, should remain a constant. Like the farad, the Henry value as a rule however should not be deviated unless you know what you are doing. Resistors can have their wattage and accuracy values RAISED freely without fear of adversely changing the circuit. Increasing them usually provides better stability.

So, why not use components with these higher, more desirable values? Easy! Space and money. The higher wattage values require more space as they device is physically larger to dissipate the heat. Higher accuracy requires tighter controls on raw material grading and production processes.. all of this translates to more labor and higher costs. It doesn't make sense to buy an expensive 100v rated capacitor for use on a 5v circuit - when a 20v capacitor will be more than adequate - for a fraction of the cost.

I hope this helps and good luck! please rate my reply. thanks.

Iam trying to find the value of a capacitor which is damaged on the GPU board for the following product. Nvidia 9800GT 1GB graphics card. The component is situated at the top right hand side of the GPU...

1) Whatever company that made that Nvidia 9800GT graphics card, isn't going to produce a schematic for the general public.
(EVGA, VisionTek, Galaxy, Sparkle, BFG, etc.)

They paid big bucks to Nvidia for the GPU, the schematics, and all licensing fees.

2) If you indicate that you believe most of the capacitors, (Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors), are of the same values, capacitance, and voltage, then remove another one of them, and test the capacitance.

Multimeter set to OHM's. An economical unit can be purchased for around $5 to $12.
Most auto parts stores carry them, as well as a multitude of other stores.

3) The Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors you are looking at, have the values printed on them. They are just in the capacitor manufacturer's code.

There is usually an identical resistor somewhere else on the circuit board, so if you cannot read the colors of the burnt one, you can read the colors from an identical resistor on the same board. If you just replace the resistor, it will probably just burn out again or damage another component, you have to find the cause of the resistor burning out, most likely an electrolytic capacitor failing. Look for bloated or seeping capacitors and replace those as well. Also look for broken or burnt toroid coils.

if burned components are on output stage or amplifier section on board..Then look at the oposite side of amp..Both amplifier section should be a mirror image oof componentc from other..that way you can know the values of parts. If they are on power supply section ..Then you might need manual if available..
