If this is the correct picture - pull out the collection bucket and reach just inside the opening at the top (just at the bottom of the grill in the front) the filter is plastic and pulls straight down. Clean it tin soapy water, dry it, and slide it back it place.

I noticed today our Goldstar dehumidifier was running, but the back was all frosted up. What does that mean?

That's an indication, that the filter needs to be removed and cleaned.
Turn the unit OFF & unplug it before removing the filter. You can vacuum the filter or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling. Never operate the unit without the filter installed.

If the coils continue to frost, but not defrost, they also should be cleaned.

I havea goldstar dehumidfierthe problem I clean the filter and now I will also clean the coil it turns on for a short time then shuts off can you help me????

snickers, you may have the humidity extraction level set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35% or if you don't have an LED readout, turn it to Maximum. Be sure that you have 12" to 18" clear air space around the entire unit.

With what you have already completed as far cleaning is concerned (Filter & Coils), the above should solve your problem.

My Goldstar dehumidifier model DH304 runs, but fails to pick up any water

If the room air is less than the set air, then there is no water in the bucket, because there is almost no humidity in the air. If it is winter, there is likely not enough humidity in the air to have water collect in the bucket. A dehumidifier will only pick up humidity out of warm air. If you are running a dehumidifier in your basement in the winter, the room may be damp, but too cold for the dehumidifier to pull out the humidity. Try running the unit in the bathroom after having a hot shower without the bathroom fan on. If working correctly the unit should draw water.

Other things that can cause problems: 1.Check to see if the air filter is dirty and/or blocked. 2. The room temperature might be too low, (below 60 degrees Fahrenheit ) 3. Check to make sure that there is no obstruction to the unit that might be causing poor airflow circulation.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem.

Is Part # 3850A20500F one of this model? my unit

I found the model # on my Goldstar DH304 at the top of a sticker on the inside of the unit behind the bucket. Mine has stopped working too. I'm awaiting an answer to my problem but after some research it seems that unless the filter and/or coils simply need cleaned, there is lttle that can be economically repaired. Good luck.

Won't come on

Definitely check the air filter, it has a sensor and will stop working if it's dirty. Easy to clean by running water through it.
