SOURCE: changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.

SOURCE: How do I replace my mitre saw blade?

It should still easily fit a 5/8" blade. The arbor shape shouldnt have any effect on the type of arbor hole needed on the saw blade (only round arbor holes are made on saw blades. You will probably find the arbor securing nut has a shape that fits into the flat gaps between the saw blade and the arbor when fixed. So grab a 5/8" round arbor saw blade and give it a go. It should work fine.
It is the arbor nut that secures the blade onto the arbor via friction which holds it on.

look on the left side of the saw just past the blade there is a knob there pull it out as you hang onto the handle of the saw ,the knob is spring loaded, plus the if you dont hold onto the handle the unit will come up very fast.possible of hurting you or the saw.

SOURCE: how do i change the blade on my delta 10

Exploded diagram for your SM100M miter saw is here.
User manual is here.

Page 20 covers blade change operation.

Make sure you unplug your saw! You need to remove a screw from the cover and rotate the cover to the rear. Use a hex wrench in the motor shaft to keep the saw blade from turning, and loosen the arbor nut with a 1/2" wrench. The arbor is reverse threaded, so you'll turn it clockwise to loosen, then counterclockwise to tighten it up after you have swapped the blade.
Rotate the cover back after that's done, and replace the screw.

If this was useful, please vote. Thanks.

Bought a MAC ALLISTER 210 COMPOUND MITRE SAW and its upright but it will not lower down,

Probably not, 2 possibilities, 1. there is a lock button that is supposed to be used to lock the saw in the down position, it probably got pushed when the saw was in the up position or 2. the blade guard got tightened by mistake. if it doesn't move freely you cannot lower the saw. Good luck hope this helps.

Saw do not lift when turned over

Is this the saw you are talking about? A compound mitre saw?
TFO 250 Ryobi
I'm assuming you cannot lift the blade up by the handle without the whole saw coming with it. That usually means that the saw is locking into place for transportation purposes. Look at the pictures below and see if the lock pin in engaged.

How to reinstall saw guard on Mac Allister MAC185LS?

Never heard of this brand of saw. A Google search indicates that MacAllister only makes big earth moving equipment. Otherwise, most saws have an appropriate washer and retaining clip that holds the guard on. And you'll need the original spring to return the guard to the closed position every time you use it. Then there are two shaped washers that fit on the armature that have a 5/8" shoulder to fit a normal saw blade. Finally there is the nut that holds everything on. Hope you didn't lose all these parts. If you did, go to eReplacementparts.com and and enter your make and model. If they don't have what you need you might be plum out of luck. But a new saw.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BLADE ON A 36-070C MITRE SAW

Not sure about the Delta. I've had both a Craftsman and a Dewalt. On both of those, the pivoting plastic guard pivots on a plate on the side of the metal guard. The plate isnt easy to see. You rotate the plastic guard all the way open and you see the edge of the plate held in place by a screw. Remove the screw and the plastic guard and the hub along with the plate it's mounted on can lift up an half inch or so--far enough to get the blade screw off the arbor.
There's a push button somewhere that locks the blade from turning so you can turn the screw in the center of the arbor with a wrench.

The blade on my Mac Allister circular saw spins on the spindle when not powered. It appears the spindle nut doesn't tighten on to the blade enough. Should there be a washer either side of the blad

Yes, there must be a washer between the blade and the nut. On many saws this washer has a D-shaped hole to match a flat spot on the shaft. The back-side of this washer usually has a recess so that when the bolt or nut is tightened down it presses down on the saw blade, not the end of the shaft. Sometimes these washers are of the beveled spring type. Good luck!

Can't find the lock catch to lift the blade

It going to be on the right side as you look at the machine, because most people are right handed. Push down on the saw body to see if there is any movement and then look for the stop.
