Is this hard drive a SATA hard drive?
If it is a SATA hard drive Windows won't detect the hard drive because the Windows XP installation CD has not got a SATA driver.
To install Windows on a SATA hard drive, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-
Normal 0

If the hard drive is a IDE drive then, the hard drive may be faulty, especially if the BIOS cannot detect the hard drive.

Can i remove a pirate copy of windows 7 and replace it with my genuine copy of windows xp

you would need to insert to XP disc in the cd drive and reboot the pc. As the pc reboot whatch for "Press any key to boot from disk". This will make the pc bypass the hard drive and load the boot file from the XP disk. Once you have answered the inital start questions, it will give the option to format the hard drive or create an extended drive. If Win 7 is not needed any more, I strongly suggest doing the format and have a fresh, new install of XP, Genuine copy.

Good luck.

When Windows XP won't start (final fix)

So--you've tried everything else and you still can't get XP up and running? Time to do a system reinstall.

If you have a recovery disk (or set) provided by the manufacturer or if you remembered to make one when you got the computer, put the first disk in the CD/DVD drive, boot from it, and then follow the prompts. The program will most likely format the hard drive and restore your computer to its original (factory) condition. Bad for you if you have not backed up your data.

When I have the opportunity, I would much rather use a Windows disk (same flavor of Windows on your machine) to install a fresh copy of the operating system. You would boot from this disk in the same manner as I described in the first two tips. This time, though, you will not choose "repair" but will proceed with the installation of a fresh copy of Windows. When prompted, I would recommend leaving the file system intact (that is, not reformat the hard drive) if you have data that you really don't want to lose. In the end, you will have two installations of Windows that you will be able to see in Windows Explorer, but only one will be functional. Your data will usually be intact. You will have to reinstall all your programs, though. All the files will be there, but no programs will work until you reinstall them.

During installation a fresh copy of Windows XP, some of files can not copy to hard disk (, spnike.dll, sprio600.dll, sprio800.dll, srgb.icm, streamci.dll and other files). How can I solve this...

Your disk is scratched and unreadable, that is why it can't copy those files.
A genuine XP disk qualifies for Microsoft Support. Contact them and ask for a back up, or replacement disk.

Your timeous rating of this solution is much appreciated.
Its the thums up on the top right of this solution.

No login screen

As soon as you get past the bios screen, start clicking F8 to get a boot menu. Boot into Safe Mode.

Then right click the C:\ drive and tell it to do a full disk check with repair.

It will say it has to do it on reboot. Reboot, allow disk check to run and see if the problem is fixed.

If not, put your Windows disk back in and click Start > Run > then type sfc /scannow and clikc OK.

When finished, run windows update and reapply all service packs.

Problem in hard disk

hi Kumar, you may not have noticed it in the past, but most drives aren't 100% the capacity that is shown on the box.

There are two reasons for this:
System Overhead use and the way Microsoft counts a MegaByte (1,024,000 bytes) versus how the manufacturers count a MegaByte (1,000,000 bytes).

Hope this helps.
