I have a Soya SY-7VCA mobo that hasn't been used for about 6 years. Upon bootup, I received a CMOS checksum error message, but was still able to load a copy of Windows 98SE that I had on floppy. After...

Probably your BIOS battery, replace that and setup you BIOS again and it should be fine. BIOS batteries look like little round watch batteries.

Any more questions just let me know.

Thanks

Asus mobo flashes on startup, no video

You should unplug the power cord from the power supply, pop out the cmos battery, switch the bios reset jumper to the 2 and 3 pins, wait about a minute, put the jumper back to 1 and 2 pins, put cmos battery back in, plug in power cord to psu and turn on pc. If you have any issues with this process please refer to your owner manual for the motherboard or look one up on their website. Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

Mobo power

Hi,
There are jumpers on the motherboard,
check all jumpers are set correctly, as from the user manual, this could be a problem.

check all your front lights are wired properly
power button, reset switch, must be correct too.
double/treble check them before building it.

Richard.

MOTHERBOARD wont boot up

verify that when you mounted the motherboard you placed all the mounting screws in the right places one misplaced screw and the charge sent through your motherboard will be pushed out and dispersed into the case

Wiring info

Most Mobo's have printing next to the places that are jumpered or pluged into. The ones you need sould be close to the edge of the mobo, that is close to the front {power button} side.

My Asus mobo P5ld2 cant turn on

Did you try to unplug all AC Power; remove internal surface battery; and then jumper the 'reset' pins from 1-2 to 2-3 ? Leave in this state for about 5 minutes- then replace battery; re-jumper back to pins 1-2- replace AC power cord. Sometimes wiping out the BIOS setup information and restarting/re-setting it up will do the trick!

Need Help

Hi,

You can do a CMOS/BIOS reset which will clear all the configurations including any password(s).

To reset the CMOS/BIOS. you need to open the case of your desktop PC and locate the jumper (JP1) for this purpose on the motherboard. It is located near the AGP Port, below the AMR1 connector. You need to move the jumper from the 2 pins where it is currently located and move it to the opposite pair (center pin will be common of course). After a few seconds place back to original position.

On reboot, press "Del" key to enter CMOS/BIOS setup, select Standard/BIOS default, Save & Exit, reboot "Del" key again, set to your preferences.

Good luck and kind regards.
