check that the drain hose is not lower than the water level. If it is, the water will simply drain away by gravity.....Nomess

Usually when a washing machine overfills this is usually a sign that the pressure switch has shorted or has a fault or that the hose leading off the pressure switch that connects to the tub either has some debris or soap build up in the hose itself which would also cause the unit to overfill as well if the hose were blocked with debris on the side that connects to the tub. It is the pressure switch that tells the control that the level of water is full enough to begin a cycle. If you have any further questions message me back. Please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. Thanks again
p.s also assure that the hose is connected to the tub if the hose that comes from the pressure switch were not to be connected and had came off where it plugs into the tub this could also cause the machine to overfill as well. I await your reply if you have any further questions.
