SOURCE: Hilti TE-60 hammer drill

what I would do if you have a fax machine is call 1-800-879-8000 and request a schematic on this tool first. Some of their products are not that easy to disassemble. I never have worked on the TE-60 but have on some of their other products and they are all different. Hope this helps

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU DISASSEMBLE THE GEAR BOX SECTION OF A

Its not that hard. however I have been working with hiltis for 22 years. once you have removed the handl assembly, remove the 4 screws which hold the motor unit to the gearbox. you will lose oil but dont worry. this will expose the drive gears. the smaller one is the crank drive or the hammer action. the larger one is the clutch assembly for the drilling action. remove the smaller of the 2 gears from its shaft by removing the circlip. you should now be able to see the circlip which holds the crankshaft into the gear housing. remove the circlip and pull out th crankshaft, this will be a tight fit so you may have to hold the shaft in a vice and carefully fit the gear housing using a rubber mallet. now you have to remove the chuck. 1st remove the rubber cap by getting a large flat screwdrivver behind it. using circlip pliers, remove the c-clip (wear safety goggles) the rest of the chuck parts should them be able to be removed with easy. you should now be able to see a large circlip, remove it. you can now remove the oil seal. this will need replacing as it is hard to remove without damage. part number 206105. under the seal there is another circlip. once this is removed you will be able the remove the guts of the gear box. again you may have to put the chuck tube in a vice and tap the gearbox housing with a rubber mallet. again you will loose oil. to reassembly just reverse the prosess. remove the oil filler cap to ensure that the crank shaft locates on the con rod . once reassembled replace the oil. 40cc only. transmission oil is good and the closest match you will get to the origional. for more info send me an email.

ps before you start make sure that parts are still available for this machine asit is quit old (no offence).
The piston rings (17955) are but i dont know about the oil seal.
you car get the seal from any car parts shop. it is a double lipped seal 35mm x 62mm x 10mm.

I hope this has helped. please leave feed back.
email me if you want a diagram sent.

Happy xmas

SOURCE: I have a Hilti TE 905 AVR the service light came

If you have the old type TE905, which is the one with the square type handle at the back, the service light will come on for 2 reasons. Either there is a tight bearing which will increase the amount of current used to work the machine. Or more common the carbon brushes need replacing. To reset the light, simply cure the problem.

If you have the newer type TE905 with the large “D” Type handle at the back. It gets a bit more complicated. The service light will come on for the same reasons as mentioned above, but it will also come on after 200 hours of use. It will continue to work for another 50 hours with the light on, then it will shut down completely. This is to ensure that it gets regular service. Once serviced or repaired, it will require resetting. To do this you with need a Hilti optical interface, a PC, and Hilti ODA Software. This is not available to the general public. If your Hilti is less Than 2 years old, call Hilti. They will pick it up, repair it, and send it back to you in 3 working days FREE OF CHARGE. If it is older than 2 years there will be a charge for the repairs.
I hope this helped you. Please leave feedback

Hilti TE 74 not hammering

It takes 70 cc of oil in the gear casing. Too much oil will snap the connecting rod. If it did not have oil in it there might be a leak somewhere

The chuck on my old Hilti TE 60 is stripped.

Are you talking about the cap nut that threads onto the chuck? It is very rare that it would strip out. Word of warning if you do find one and thread it back on. You need to have a chisel in the chuck and have the chisel end locked in a vise. This protects from breaking the gear housing on the inside where the shift dog rides up and down.

Those parts are no longer available but you can still find some used on Ebay. Also the TE-72 used the same chuck parts.

Yes. New bits will fit old Hilti drills. Old Hilti bits do not fit the new (last 15 years) Hilti drills.
