Hi just read your posting. Now, I need to know the model number of the machine which is located on a sticker on the back of the machine top left. Please look under the machine to the front right and you should see a fan,This is your pump.Shine a torch at it to see if there is any corrosion on it.Also have a look for any evidence of water on the pump or surroundings.Depending on which model of machine you have if the water is making the pump faulty it will turn the machine turn off automatically. Please reply with the model number and what you find under the machine.Looking forward to your reply.

thanks for your reply, today i have removed the pump and found that the shaft seal was worn and water was leaking through onto the pump motor hence tripping the thermal overload on the motor. I have replaced the pump with a new one and have put one load through the machine, however there is still a leak somewhere I think it is coming from around the pump out hose, maybe it has a hole in it. the model of my machine is IW709AU Intuitive.

Hi just read your last posting. Now check the black drain hose where it exits the frame at the back of the machine, also check around the pump for water after a wash and while you are checking around the pump check the motor for water as the main seal might be leaking. Please reply on what you find and I can help you repair or replace anything that is faulty.I can also give you phone numbers of places where you can buy FISHER@PAYKEL parts cheap in Australia.Looking forward to your reply.

i have checked the drain hose and found a hole where it exits the machine. I have repaired this by cutting it away and joining in an extension hose piece i picked up at an appliance spares place. I am pretty sure i have fixed all my problems for now. thankyou for your help.

I only have a hose attached to the cold water tap and inlet valve of my Fischer & Paykel top loader washing machine as I only do cold washes, this hadn't been a problem until recently, when th

it could be that the water level got to high and came out of the valve you could try putting a cap on the valve and see if that works and if it does not then it might be a bigger issue.

I have a Fischer Paykel Smart Drive 5.5 which is leaking water into the machine when it is switched off. Obviously when I turn off the feeding taps the water stops dripping but how can I stop the leaking...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(pre-typed to cover hot and/or cold!)

This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning (not closing completely) water control valve

With power off, if it is hot AND cold fill, turn one or the other off and see which one is causing the problem. Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Clogged pump stopped up drain. If the washer does not think all water was pumped out in 8 minutes then it shuts down. Slow drain is my first inclination.
