If there is no problem with the battery(does it hold a full charge?) or power cabling (unnatural bunching inside the plastic sheath, frayed wires etc), then the power adapter is not providing enough current to run and charge your laptop battery at the same time. This would suggest a hardware issue with your power adapter, consider replacing it.

I have tried two separate power adaptors, same problem with both. I recently rebooted the laptop to out-of-box settings and then this problem started, the problem is, I need to run it off power to reboot again.

Upon further investigation, the Satellite series has a common issue with not recognizing the battery/recharging. This can be resolved sometimes by turning on the laptop with the battery unplugged, then re-inserting the battery after five minutes or so. Otherwise Toshiba support should be contacted if you are still under warranty.

Toshiba satellite l305d-s5934 Won't charge battery dont power On

POWER SUPPLY & BATTERY PROBLEM
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

My laptop won't charge

What do u mean by "adjust the cord" ? If u have to adjust by twisting the jack in the power input port then it is neither the fault of the cord nor the of the battery but may be the fault of the power input port.
Go to Toshiba service center and they will solv the prob.

How to reset the password n toshiba satellite m300

If you are referring to the Bios Password on the Sattelite Pro M300, if you open up the ram cover on the bottom of the laptop and remove the RAM, you should see two triangular metal contacts (like an up and down arrow) (. HOW TO REMOVE BIOS PASSWORD ON TOSHIBA SATELLITE A305 AND C655D <- This video put me on the right track to solving the problem). Unplug the laptop and remove the battery. Hold the power button for a few seconds (this is good practice to try to discharge the circuitry to prevent accidental damage. Also, make sure you are properly grounded to prevent damage to the laptop from ESD). What I did was take a small length of wire (I took a piece of a twist tie without the paper) and tape it across the two contacts. On the laptop I was working on there was plastic covering any other contact points, but make sure that you are not going to short circuit anything else. Then I reinstalled the ram (I had only one ram chip, and unlike the previous video I had to install it in the slot closest to the motherboard. Your millage may vary) and turned the computer on. It took a couple of tries to get the wire taped firmly enough against the contact points, and I suspect you may need to work quickly before it becomes detached. When the laptop boots the indicator leds will blink then it will restart. I let it run a few times until it lets me go into the setup screen (hit f2) - I suspect that it eventually allows me to do this because the wire loses contact with the reset contacts, which is why I say you need to work quickly. I did this on two separate laptops with success. DISCLAIMER: This could potentially wreck your computer. I take no responsibility for anything that goes wrong: you do this at your own risk.

"Plugged in, not charging", Toshiba Satellite A135 S4527, under Windows Vista Home Premium

It sounds like the power socket on the laptop is faulty and needs replacing or resoldering. To check this, power up the latop with the power adapter, wriggle the plug in the power socket and check if the battery charge indicator flicks on and off indicating charging and not charging. If it indicator flicks on and off then you have a faulty power socket.
This can be repaired but required the laptop to be completely dismantled to access the power connector.

How to turn on toshiba satellite M300 laptop from hibernating mode

hi shirleygty, is that automatic hibernation (the computer hibernates by itself) or manual hibernation (by pressing the hibernate button)? If either applies to your case you might need to update the BIOS information for your computer to fix the power management issues on it. You can get it here. Just run the file, click install & choose Install From Windows. Make sure you don't have any BIOS password or any external devices connected to the computer. When the update completed successfully, your computer will automatically restart, then try hibernating this time (manual or automatic). I do recommend setting the hibernation to 1min. at the control panel > power options > change when to turn off the display. When it hibernates, pressing any keys or the power button should wake up the computer.

Hope this helps.
