Cda 9885, When in tuner mode sub does not play

Does you car volume get lower when you stop. If not sounds like an internal issue. No sound at all my brother hooked his up and when he switched to tuner everything would go through the subs but you would not know it sounded like his 6x9s no bass. was a wiring issue. I dont know if this helped or not.

I have 2 amps instalkled in my car one is sony 1200w 2 channel amp for speakers and one is solid audio f2500d for 3 subs my sound and every thing was good but suddenly from yesterday im having trouble when...

First disconnect the CD head unit from the sub amp and see if the other amp works. If yes, the problem is the wires to the amp, the amp itself, or the subs/sub wiring. If no, the problem is the head unit--probably an internal short.
If the other amp works with the sub amp disconnected, reconnect the sub amp to the head unit, but disconnect the sub wires from the amp. Try the CD player. If the amp goes to protect with no speaker wires attached, the amp is bad. If the amp is OK, the problem is the subs or sub wires. Hook the wires up to the amp again, but disconnect them from the speakers. Try the player again. If the amp goes to protect, the problem is the amp wiring. If not, the problem is the subs. Check the impedance of each sub using an ohmmeter to determine which amp is out of spec.
Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using Fixya.

Hey I have an Alpine CDA-9851 CD Player and was wondering how to hook up my two 10" Kicker subs, since there is no subwoofer connection on the back of the player.

First to start you need an amp something that is a little stronger than your subs. What you want to do is 'T' off your speaker wires into RCA's to hook up into the amp. There is a device you can buy or you can cut some RCA cables. There are a few down sides to do it this way because as you turn up the volume the Subs will get louder and start to distort a lot faster than hooking up proper. The best way to do it is to get a deck with RCA sub outputs. Good Luck

I having problems getting my subs to play through the cd player!!

More than likely you have hooked up the power anttena wire as your remote turn on. So hook up the OTHER blue wire to feed your amplifier, and problem solved.

No sound from my front and back speakers in my van ive got subs

Make sure that when you hooked up your 4 channel amp to the remote turn on lead it is the same as the sub. Only hook amps to the Blue w/ white strip. The solid blue is power antenna lead and will lose power when on CD, ipod etc and only stays powered when the Tuner is on. Hope this fixes your problem.

Need help with the system

Did you connect your TV to the DVD player via video cable (S-video, composite, or component)? That might be why you cant see the screen and stuff. To connect to TV, just connect your VIDEO OUT on the dvd player to the VIDEO IN on your TV. About that sub...you can hook it up, but it will only have as much punch as the player will allow. In other words, dont expect much out of a 20" sub if you have a 100 watt system.
