When attempting to capture video from Panasonic video camera NV-GS4 the following message appears.
Pinnacle Studio SE cannot initialize the DV capture device.
I have tried reinstalling both the Pinnacle disc & the Panasonic USB Driver disc to no avail. I have had this problem in the past and got round it but it is so long since I used this system I can't remember the solution.
Can you help?
Go into menu and look for AV/DV out, and turn on. this should be under menu under camera or video settings. I assume your output from your camera has not been established. I have to establish mine with my camcorder. hope this helps.

hello, my name is Adam, i am going to try and solve your problem, to do this all you need to do is start recording with your dazzle through pinnacle studio, then open up amcap, here I might be a little sketchy as I do not have the best memory, but at the top I think it sais something like capture, click on that, then at the bottom it should say like options or something, then when you click on that there should be a little drop down menu with different things such as NTSC and Secam, you want to choose the one saying Secam_B, once you have done that minimize amcap and then you should be recording in colour in pinnacle studio. Although you have to do this everytime you start recording which is the down side, need any more help? send me a message on msn, my msn is email@example.com

Are you using vista 32 or 64 bit system? If Vista 64 bit there is no driver for your device and the only available is 32 bit only. Aside from that you can check also the video cable you were trying to used. If firewire under import/capture tab of Studio 14 you need to select the name of your camcorder or dv camcorder. Check that out and try.
This link takes you to the specs of this software....pretty much t supports from windows 98 SE to Windows XP. Windows Vista is not listed
