You could try cleaning the lens with a commercial laser lens cleaner... like one of these..... http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=dvd%20cleaner&origkw=dvd%20cleaner&sr=1
But these things eventually burn out. It just depends how often you use it.
