Hello,

The dropped voltage could have spoiled a component in the television, most likely the power panel.

Try using another cord to connect the television to see if it is not the cable that got burnt, and if it does the same, then it means you have to replace the power panel of the television.

You can have a repairman change the power panel of the television.
After replacing the power panel of the television, it should be in good condition once again.

Take care

It depends on where you want to buy the power panel from. but it is not quite as expensive as getting a new one.

We have to push the on button on our TV from 20-100 times to get it to turn on. Have changed batteries and restarted to no avail.

"He said our TV has a problem". Brilliant! To be more specific, he could have suggested switch failure or a failing power supply.

Samsung ln32c450e1d no power at all

Ensure there is power in the outlet you have connected the TV and it has the rated voltage. If possible take the TV to another place, where you are sure there is power. If it does not work, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.

Samsung 793S (Black) 17

On these older CRT monitors when you have that type of problem it indicated that the high voltage power supply is not putting out the right voltage to charge the picture tube. As the power supply gets weaker the time to show a picture will take longer and longer. It is not worth repairing the unit because parts will run much more than a replacement monitor.

Why does my vizio lcd 47 in tv just suddenly turn off. I will be watching tv and suddenly it just goes off. The vizio power light then blinks steady for about 1 min and then the tv starts up again, as if...

Good day!

Please follow this procedure to fix your problem:
  1. Open the cover of your TV.Remove all screws at the back.
  2. Next, power ON the TV and check the output voltage of power supply using voltmeter.
  3. It should have not less than 5vdc for system board,12vdc for sounds and 24vdc for inverter board. If the 3 supplies are got a voltage drop your power supply had problem. For example if you check the 5vdc then the reading is 4.50vdc only.
  4. If you have voltage drop, check some leak/bulge on top capacitor on power supply.replace it by using soldering iron and soldering pump.
  5. When the power supply looks like OK,no voltage drop and no leak/bulge on top capacitor. The problem is your system board or main board. There's no easy remedy for that. You have to replace the whole system board.
I hope this solution helps you to fix your problem.Thank you and good luck.

Attach a 12v bulb to the 12v output of the power supply, do not turn on the power switch because we just wan to lod the power supply with the bulb only, see if the lamp cycle on and off.
Check the DC voltage on the large cap (the one with 250~350vdc rating) on the AC primary side, it should have about 160vdc on it.
Use the hair dryer set to low and heat up the small cap by SMP IC on the heatsink as shown in picture DSCF0585 to see if the output 12vdc is on steady.

All the caps have flat tops and you replace them as a set?

I have a samsung 52"HD tv. we had a problem with the electrical power in the house and when i plugged the tv it sparked and the tv wend dead. I heard several clicking sounds like if it wanted to turn on...

It will be if you have access to a TV technician, the inconsistent voltage has caused the power pack to blow, it will need to be replaced, also I recommend you buy a very good multi plug with a power modulator to stop power spikes in the future.
