Hello,

If the screen is dark but is trying to show some things on the display, then it is the lamp of the television that is faulty.

But If you are having sound but no picture, the problem is not the lamp, it is the t-com board of the television.

Have it replaced and your television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

How to solve Toshiba satellite L645 From black screen ?

You may have a faulty inverter, it supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp.
If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

If it fades linearly, it is probably the high voltage inverter for the backlight fluorescent lamp. Generally, the lamp dies over time with some flickering of it first.
That inverter is normally on a small, separate board and once the unit is open, it is easy to locate and replace.

Dark band at top of screen...now whole screen

Pop sound is probably the Lamp or maybe the color wheel. When you unplug and try it on do you hear a whirling or winning sound ? Is it followed by a slight ticking sound ? If you get the whirling and a ticking sound it's probably a bad lamp. If you don't hear the whirling sound you may have a bad color wheel. The parts are both made of glass. The pop you heard was one of them breaking. If you can't tell, order a lamp you will need to change it eventually anyway.

Your lamp is probably going bad. Is your lamp indicator light blinking? New lamp for this costs around $200. Don't buy a bare bulb to save money. Buy the one with the casing. You pop the old one out, pop the new one in. DO NOT touch the lamp itself.

SCREEN IS BLACK

Called a service tech, (for free)
he said it was probably the lamp, and it was an easy fix.
Just have to order the lamp and put it in our selves.
I will let you know if it works or not.
We were told the lamp goes out anywhere between 1000 - 2000 hours.
So we will be needing the lamp regardless.
