The reason it is asking you if you want to delete all is because you have not selected specific files to erase, so when you hit erase without selecting a file it assumes you mean delete all.

  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder A, B, or C.
  2. Press the - or + button to select the file to be erased.

To erase the contents of Folder A, B, or C:
  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder A, B, or C.
  2. Press the ERASE button twice.
  3. Press the - or + button to select YES.
  4. Press the ENTER/INDEX button.

  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder S.
  2. Press the - or + button to select the date subfolder.
  3. Press the PLAY button.
  4. Press the - or + button to select the file to be erased.
  5. Press the STOP button.
  6. Press the ERASE button.Press the - or + button to select YES.
  7. Press the ENTER/INDEX button.

  2. Press the - or + button to select the date subfolder to be erased.
  3. Press the ERASE button twice.
  4. Press the - or + button to select YES.
  5. Press the ENTER/INDEX button.

To erase the contents of Folder S:
  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder S.

Dear sir / madam. my small nephew accidentally reformat my storetv+,how i can get the original program or files of this system?

Formatting normally clears a hard drive of all data, this device is essentially an external hard drive.
If its recorded programs, films or data then you've probably lost them, however if its the software which drives the system, then the best place to start is the Toshiba website.

You can download a manual from here:-
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp?service=EUYou can also access the rest of Toshiba's support from this page including software downloads

I recently purchased the Toshiba DR570KU DVD recorder. I live and purchased this machine on a small Caribbean Island, and with respect to local people they have no technical knowledge of what they are...

Hi -

I'll try to explain without confusing you any further, but if anything doesn't make sense, please let me know. The instructions on page 79 are contradictory, which doesn't help very much. The upper part of the page suggests you can create extra space on a DVD+RW disc by deleting titles, while the lower part, in the grey box, states you cannot. The bottom part is actually correct.

I'll split this into two sections - blank/unused and used discs then explore a few scenarios.

Blank/unused discs

A DVD+RW is typically 4.7GB and will record approx. 2 hours of video in SP mode or 4 hours inLP mode. If you record more than one programme, they will appear consecutively in the disc editing menu, and shown as numbered blocks in the Title List. The last block shown will always be 'EMPTY', but the actual size of this block can be all or none of the total capacity of the disc.

If you insert a blank DVD+RW disc into the machine and view the title list, you will see this:

belectric_221.jpg

Although you can't 'record' to a block labelled EMPTY, this doesn't mean you cannot record to this disc. The blank space on the disc precedes the block labelled as 'EMPTY'.

If you then record one programme of 1 hour duration in SP mode. the title list will look like this:

belectric_222.jpg

Once again, although you can't 'record' to the block labelled EMPTY, this doesn't mean this disc is full or that you cannot record anything else on it. The next programme recorder will appear between title 1 and the 'empty' block - as long as there is sufficient space on the disc remaining to record the programme.

If you then record a second programme of 1 hour duration in SP mode. the title list will look like this:

belectric_223.jpg

This disc is now full as 2 hours of video has been recorded in SP mode. However, if you'd only recorded 1 hour in total for these 2 programmes, you would still be able to record another hour of video in SP to this disc. The additional programmes would appear between the last numbered title and the 'empty' block - until the disc is full.

The empty block is always present and you cannot 'get rid of it', but it doesn't mean the disc is full or cannot be recorded on.

Hopefully, this goes some way to explaining it, but I still need need to explain what happens with used / full discs when you want to delete programmes and re-record.

There is a maximum length for messages posted on FixYa and I may be getting close to this, so rather than break off in mid-flow, I will continue the explanation for used discs in another message below this one. I will do this right now, but it will probably take me 20 minutes or so to write part 2, so keep checking back. It will be less confusing if you hold any questions until I've written part 2, but I will be happy to answer any after that.

Regards,
BElectric

How to recover erased file from panasonic digital recorder

Hi, there

First things first: DO NOT take any more videos or audio with the recorder that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of voice memo file recovery.

Then connect your recorder to a PC with a recovery program installed. Photo Recovery Software (also recover Voice memos, audio and video files) is right what you need to use if you are running Windows. If you are Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac.

But you should remember - the more you use your recorder, the less likely you may be able to recover the deleted files back! So STOP using the device ASAP. Best regards!

How can I recover accidentally voice memos from iPhone 3G

When you lose your voice memos in your iPhone, they can have a look at your iTunes first, maybe you've synced the voice memos to iTunes, and the voice memos can be found in iTunes folder. If not, you may need to restore your iPhone with iTunes to recover deleted voice memos. If you have updated your iPhone backup in iTunes, you will save the voice memos in iTunes backup as well, so you are able to get the lost voice memos back with iTunes.
recover-accidentally-voice-memos-from-oxaxc0rwhkhzilrwacqreyis-3-0.jpg When the restoring process is done, you will get the backup contents in your iPhone. The voice memos should have been restored to your iPhone as well. However, as is known, there is chance that the iPhone users will lose the newly added data in their device if they haven't updated their backup. At this moment, you will need a piece of iPhone data recovery software to recover deleted voice memos from iPhone backup.

Lost Recordings

Very odd problem. If the unit has a problem with software, it won't work at all. I've never seen a unit delete ALL the shows, unless someone initiated a clear and delete everything from the reset menu.

Was the unit in guided setup? or was everything (channel guides, settings) the same and your recordings were just gone?

DCR-DVD92 - Sony disc recommended

There is a fix for that problem on "BitTorrent", You download the internal micro-program, you change one byte from FF to zero zero (hex), you change the checksum as indicated and you will never see this annoying message again. Then, reload the file as if it is an update from Sony.
I did not keep the instructions as I bought a Canon which is compatible with other editing software while Sony is too much simplistic when capturing the sequences and is not good for my job. If you know their dedicated software, you do not need comments, Am I right? If at least the improvements had improved something...???
