Question about HP Computers & Internet

The power(ON/OFF) BUTTON does not work as easily as it did, and will not turn on it was working fine, then went to turn it on and button seemed to be stuck. I took the cap off aand it appears that it sits on a nylon ring and below the ring is a mini circuit board which does not move i put the cap back on after straightening the ring inside it appeared to be pushed down below the housing on one side. have you heard of this happening before? also is there a other way to power up the laptop? modelHP G60-441US Thank You

There is no other way to power up the computer without that board working correctly.

It's probably pretty common because I just checked ebay and the board is way overpriced which means there is a high demand and dwindling supply of them.

Check around ebay for pictures, they might help you diagnose and fix the problem yourself.

Worse case scenario is you purchase a replacement like this one.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Monitor problem

The power light is flashing green can indicate start/restart of the power supply due to shorts circuits or failing power supply due to bad caps, look for bad caps with bulging top first, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
