Look for 3 adjustment screws on the carb. should be three total. 1 screw is for idle adjustment. the other 2 should be close to each other, one is low speed fuel/air mix and the other is high fuel/air mix. Adjust the low fuel/air mix screw until it will idle un-added with the throttle then adjust the idle on the throttle to get a good idle speed. Next adjust the High fuel/air mix until it gets the RPM's you want it to have. It should go from idle to high speed with out hesitation or cough. . Start with 1 1/2 turn out from all the way in. Be sure the filter is clean, You can use starting fluid or old school lighter fluid to aid starting if has been sitting for some time.

MAC 110 Starts but won't stay running?

Check fuel line integrity, could be a split pipe. Could also be a tick over problem. If it revs fine then try adjusting the idle screw.

What is the initial carburettor adjustment for a mac 120 MCCulloch chainsaw?

Hi williamsc32...
Before you remove or try to adjust your low and high speed jets you should always count the number of turns it takes to lightly seat the idle mixture screw and high speed needle adjusting screws.
Be sure to write the number of turns down on a piece of paper so you will know how many turns from the seated position to open the jets when you go to reinstall them, or if you remove them for cleaning or replacement.
If you have aready tried to adjust them then the adjustments below should get it running for you for final adjustment when warm.
Normally you will adjust your idle jet to 1/2-3/4 turn open from the bottom seated position.
Then you will re-adjust the low speed of the engine when the engine is warm by turning the idle screw in or out till the engine runs smoothly at idle speed, around 1200 RPM.
The high speed jet is adjusted to 1 1/2- 1 3/4 open from the bottom seated position, after the engine is warm.
Then re-adjusted by turning the High Speed jet adjustment screw in or out till the motor runs smoothly at high speed.
Alway use the "lightly seated" method if you have not changed the screw settings.
Please take time to rate me

Mcculloch power mac 310 chainsaw Carb adjustments

The idle adjustment screw will probably have a spring on that screw and will push directly on the throttle linkage. You just adjust this screw until the engine idles like you want it to. I believe on saws, they have to idle to where the clutch will not engauge when the engine is at idle. As for the mixture screws the low speed screw (L) you adjust when the engine is at idle, the high speed screw (H) you adjust while the engine is running with a good bit of throttle. Once you get the idle speed where you like it, then all you have to worry about is the mixture screws. When adjusting the screws, just listen to the engine, to much one way and the engine will run rough and sputter, to much the other way the engine will run rough and maybe start hunting (reving up and down). One thing to check on these small 2-strokes is that the air filter and the muffler are not clogged cause if they are, then you would be having to adjust the carburetor to make up for the air restrictions that these two problems can cause which would mean that the carburetor isn't actually adjusted perfectly.

Can anyone help with fuel mix and starting instructions for McCulloch 2214av chainsaw please

Ok, always use good quaility teo stroke oil, from a manufacturer who actually produces a chainsaw, ie Husqvarna/Stihl/Jonsered etc, all of these oils should be run at 50-1, avoid oil makes you have never heard of.
Starting instructions are as follows, switch the red ignition switch too on ( up ) depress the primmer bulb as many times as it takes to 3/4 fill the bulb ( you cannot flood the engine if you over prime, it is better to over prime ) pull the blue choke fully out, crank the engine until it fires once ( it will only fire once, do not continue to crank the engine after it first fires with the choke still out ) now push the choke fully back in, crank the engine until it fires up and runs on fast idle, now blip the throttle trigger to diss engage the fast idle position, the saw should now drop down to idle.

Have a mac 3516 35cc the carberator is way out of adjustment where do i set idle and gas adjustment screws at

I have always found that a good place to start was to close both completly shut then open 1 1/2 turns. On idle adjust to where it will idle good and chain is not moving. At run speed adjust slowly to where it runs the smoothest at max R.P.M.s. Hope this helps.Thank you.

The second hand McCulloch 120 chainsaw I purchased

I think the pre-adjust settings are to turn jets in all the way and back out 1.5 turns each. then:

You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn.
