You could boot the computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt, you still have to login into an account though, but usually most people leave the Admin password blank ;)

What are you trying to do exactly?

What does Error 106 mean?

You might have broken the TCP/IP connection during the removal?
Open a COMMAND PROMPT and run it as an Administrator... find a COMMAND PROMPT icon (Start Orb, All Programs, Accessories, and on the Command Prompt icon RMB and select Run As Administrator) and enter 'netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.log' without the quotes. If you get a message you can't write to C:, chose a folder you can write the resetlog.log to.

I cant log on because i forgot my password

If you have any other user account with admin rights then only you can change the password..else you have to reinstall the operating system.
If you have a different account with admin accounts.
go to start then in run type in cmd\
you will see a black window.

Then follow the below steps:

To change a user's password at the command prompt, log on as an administrator and type:
net user user_name * /domain When you are prompted to type a password for the user, type the new password, not the existing password. After you type the new password, the system prompts you to retype the password to confirm. The password is now changed.

Alternatively, you can type the following command:
net user user_name new_password
When you do so, the password changes without prompting you again. This command also enables you to change passwords in a batch file.

Non-administrators receive a "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied" error message when they attempt to change the password.

I could not do Map Network Drive from other pc to my Dell Inspiron 1501. It looks like security setting is violated. I got message saying 'c' is available but the user account that you are logged on with...

If you are using Window's XP or later the problem is probably the account you are logged into doesn't have "administrative access". You will have to log into the administrative account to make network changes.

If you are running Vista the default administrative account is hidden. To access it do the following: First you’ll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing “Run as administrator” (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box)

Now type the following command :
net user administrator /active:yes

You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice. (Note that the screenshots are from Vista, but this works on Windows 7)

You’ll note that there’s no password for this account, so if you want to leave it enabled you should change the password.
Disable Built-in Administrator Account
Make sure you are logged on as your regular user account, and then open an administrator mode command prompt as above. Type the following command:
net user administrator /active:no

The administrator account will now be disabled, and shouldn’t show up on the login screen anymore.

I cannot access start w/o being logged on to change password

hi,

i assume that you are the admin of your laptop, if so, then you can change your password from command prompt (Click Start-->Run-->type "cmd") OR (press WinKey + R and type "cmd"), press enter

you'll get a command prompt, type the following at the command prompt:

net user <user_name> <new_password>

where the <user_name> is your own username and <new_password> is your NEW password for the system.

Thanks and regards.

connect to router
access router by inserting it's address into address bar
-- if you don't know address, open command prompt and perform "ipconfig /all" command, without quotes, at the flashing cursor

the router ip address is equal to the default gateway/dhcp server address, usually 192.168.x.x

once logged into router, after successfully entering the username/password, you can secure router by changing the default password for accessing the router interface and any other setting you feel needs to be changed.
