Question about Alpine CDM-9821 CD Player

Why is there no sound when playing cd on the alpine cdm-9821? I installed this cd player in a 92 bmw 325i and the sound plays when using the radio but not when playing a cd. the cd timer is running but no sound. solutions?

had the same problem with my alpine, i was able to fix it once by, popping off the face plate and with fine grit sand paper (lightly) sand the connection point on the radio and the face plate, then put a little bit of dialectic grease on it. also doing a reset on the unit helped me from time to time...

Dont know where black wire pluggs in


A black wire is a ground wire and most likely it should be connected to a good ground source like the metal support for the dash.

an easy way would b 4 u 2 gent an fm tramsmitter thats the cheap route if its not on output 4 an ipod connection im pretty sure u can hook up ur amp the only wires that need 2 com from th in-das is a remote and ur rca the remote wire should b blue n u can get a headphone converter with rca ends but i doubt ur ipod will play out of ur amp.... let me know if this helps

Cant get my alp cdm9821 to go off of cd mode


their is a reset button behind the face you need to use a bic pen and push and hold it in for ten seconds and then it should allcome back to life
