It sounds like the condenser for your fridge is starting to fail. This is a pretty major repair, you are going to want to consult a local service person in your area unless you have done major appliance repair before yourself. If you have let me know and I can help you find the replacement part.

Thanks
Tim

Yes and it will continue to do so. You can try running a manual defrost, it may very well rectify the problem at least for quite a while. Take all the food out of the fridge and freezer and store it somewhere, a cooler for example... it's only going to be out for a few hours. Then unplug the fridge from the power source for a good 8 hours and let all ice buildup melt. It's also a good idea to check behind the fridge and clean any and all coils and things back there. Also you can take the bottom grill off most fridges and vacuum under there to remove dust and debris that builds up on the coils. This will usually get the condenser and compressor working much better again, and leaving it unplugged for 8 hours will allow it to do an internal defrost of anything built up. Also it can help "kick-start" the condenser and get it working again.

If it still has the same problem though you definitely need some in-person service.

    Thanks
    Tim

My samsung ice maker is making ice, but not dropping it, what can we do?

This is your Touch pad. On it using only two fingers (nothing else touching the fridge) Press and hold energy saver, and the lighting button at the same time for 5 seconds. All of the LEDS should flash on the display, this is error code mode. Hold it down until either all of the LEDs go blank, or unless one of the little temperature lines start flashing. If they do flash you probably need a new ice maker. If they don't, honestly, it still sounds like the control is still working because it's supplying the ice maker with power. If the display goes blank for 30 seconds, the fridge will reset causing it to start operating normally again, but it always feels good to see if the unit will actually throw the error code for you. DA97-08059A is the part number available here..

Before ordering this part, also verify the freezer is cold enough (-8 all the way to 10 degrees F will be cold enough for the fridge to induce a cycle of the ice maker, any warmer temps this will not work. If the ice maker doesn't solve the problem, Then we point the finger at the main board, but have never replaced the board on this model to solve this issue. These ice makers fail enough to keep a truck stock one at work.

Refrigerator wont stop running

If the machine is running all the time a few things could be happening, The defrost timer could be bad, but if that is the case then you should see a build up of ice forming on the wall that covers the evaporator coils. Another situation is that your machine is low on freon and not reaching a temperature cold enough for the temperature control to shut the machine off. Third and last the temperature control itself could be bad and thinks the machine isn't cold enough. in that situation you would notice ice build up as well. Hopefully this helps.

Fridge side cant keep 100 percent cold

Have you noticed a big difference lately in the cooling of the cold food section? Any time you open doors to a refrigerator or freezer you allow them to exchange room temperatures with inside ambient temperatures. The only time you should be concerned is when these temperatures begin to remain abnormally high. Many times the temperature rises in the kitchen while diner is prepared. Those temperatures also affect how long your refrigerator need to run to maintain the temperature settings you select. Your refrigerator has something called an Adaptive Defrost Control. If you should have problems with it you would notice a big difference.Another thing that can help is to make sure the condenser coils below refrigerator remain clean and clear of dust. The warm air circulating below your refrigerator is as important as the cold air inside. As for the vents that lead from freezer to cold food section they sometime become obstructed especially if they have a damper inside and frost locks the damper shut. If I missed something here please let me know, Thank You, Sea Breeze

Undependable freezing - sometimes will, sometimes won't!

High room temperatures will throw this unit off BIG TIME. Just to give you an idea how sensitive the freezer bowl is - if you run cold water along the freezer bowl before putting your ingredients in, the COLD water is enough to unfreeze the bowl! Don't remove the freezer bowl from freezer until you are immediately ready to begin mixing - not 5 minutes earlier.

GE monogram side by side no ice water dispensed not cold

To actuate the ice maker pull the arm down and it is in the on position.

The water is actually cooled in the refrigerator section. However it is not designed for a continuous flow. It takes time for the heat to be removed between each water draw.

If your refrigerator temperature is not cold enough it will affect the water temperature also. Check the refrigerator compartment temperature with a thermometer.
