Question about Bosch Measuring Tools & Sensors

Bought an 8201-cl Skil Laser Line Level and can't figure how to use it. Mounted unit on top of tripod and got it turned on and got level and plumb lines with GREEN dot on top. How does one get greater heights than the adjustablity ( 12" approx. up ) of the tripod. Are you supposed to actually MEASURE from the HORIZONTAL RED LINE up ( or down-as the case may be ) and from the VERTICAL RED LINE in the same manner for the left or right measurements? The instruction booklet talks of tilting and i can't figure how the SOLID mount on the tripod is supposed to do that. How do I get a LIne marked ( foe example ) 3" from the ceiling for a drop ceiling installation. My outfit will only give me about 4 feet. Do you have another instruction system. HELP!

Yes, you have to measure up from the line it gives you. It gives you a precise level so mark it and then measure up (or down) from it.
Or place the tripod on a table or something to get to higher position.

I have a pls 5 laser level and the laser dose not light up but the tilt will operate

It could be a broken wire. If it's a new PLS model, then you can remove the back cover and genitally remove the core, and look to see if any of the thin wires are broken. if not the laser diode is burnt out. If you have an old model with the power button on the top of the unit, then don't open it, it wont close again.

PLS tools are not designed to be repaired. There was a time when PLS made replacement parts, however they changed from that business model and now when things break or go out of spec. they are replaced with an ETN (Equivalent to New) units. Either for free, if they are under warranty, or at a lower cost, if not. Bring your laser to a PLS retailer, and they should be able to take care of you.

We have a bunch of PLS180 units that are out of calibration. Is there any way to adjust these back to level. I have some concerns about opening up the unit after seeing the warning about laser radiation...

The manual describes the procedure for checking level and plumb for the PLS180 but if you have determined that your units are out of calibration you are right to be concerned about opening the unit yourself. Please contact PLS at 1-800-601-4500 to find an authorized service center for your lasers.
If you cannot locate your manuals to check level and/or plumb I an attaching a link to the PLS180 manual as the methods for confirming level and plumb are quite detailed and should be followed exactly as described.

Have a great day.

My 1998 cady sts is really high in the back looks like it is lifted.... why?

The vent solenoid is stuck closed on the ELC unit (electronic level control). You can replace the vent valve but it is mounted to the ELC unit witch is attached to the rear axle assembly on the top of axle assembly above the right muffler. To temporary level car, disconnect the compressor electrically then disconnect the air line on one of the rear shocks, let air out till car is level put air line back on shock. Thank you

Turn unit on and it flashes but it won't level

Firstly, check batteries are fresh and new. Secondly, the unit itself has to be within 5-10 degrees of level before it will level itself out. If it is outside this range, i.e. pointing too far up or down, the lasers will flash toi indicate this. So just check the unit itself is sitting somewhere close to level to begin with, because the levelling gyros only have a small range in which to operate.

Need manual for kodak Gear Tripod 60'' or instructions about it's

Look at the bottom of your camera and you should see a hole where a screw would screw into. That should be the screw on the top of your tripod.
