Remove the faucet handle and trim. Close of the check valve stops on each side of the valve body with a flat screwdriver. Remove the balancing spool and Moen cartridge. Look for and mineral buildup in side the faucet and on the spool or cartridge. If there is buildup on the spool and cartridge, place them in a large bowel with a cup of vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda. The solution will remove the buildup in a few minutes. Replace the Moen faucet parts and test the faucet. If there is buildup inside the faucet body, use a wire copper fitting brush to the remove the minerals from inside the spool and cartridge tubes of the faucet body. Turn the stop valves on just a little to wash out the debris before reinstalling the spool and moen faucet cartridge. If the is is still no pressure on the one side or the other, turn off all the water to the house and remove the check valve stops, clean them as well and the inside of the faucet. If all else fails, replace the stops, spool and cartridge. Beyond that, the water supply lines may need to be flushes with the same solution. No water when valve is turned all the way to hot - bbfb399.jpg

I installed oakbrook tub and shower faucet 48011 and no hot water is coming out either side just water. What could be wrong?

If you have just water coming out you have not urned on the hot water valve that was turned off during install. check other faucet for hot . If you have hot there its not the hot water tank its the hot side valve.

My American Standard R120 shower valve has excellent pressure on the cold side, no pressure on the hot side.

Could be a chunk of scale in the valve. Need to turn off water supply and take valve apart. If nothing is found, turn water supply on to give line a 'quick' flush and turn back off. If this does not help, you probably have an obstruction somewhere in the hot supply line and a plumber may be needed unless you are handy. Good luck.

There is a hot water valve & a cold water valve on the Dexter T300 machines but it is a 2 coil valve. does the hot water valve supply only hot water or does one side provide water to perhaps the...

supplies hot water when needed, cold water when needed. and then warm water when needed. so the second coil is for warm water. it basically mixes the hot and cold water.

Machine runs but doesn't allow water to come into machine

Don't know the history of your machine, sounds like possibly the hot water supply valve under your sink is turned off. To check this go under your kitchen sink and inspect water supply valves, (right side cold water) left side hot water valve feeds the machine. Vertical water line is for sink above, there should be a second water line coming off this valve that has its own on/off knob. Make sure this knob is turned on, (counterclockwise)if not sure turn it to the right (clockwise)till stops, then to the left till it stops. This allows hot water to enter dish machine. If valve is on and line is ok, there might be a kink in the line behind the dish machine or a restriction (clog) in the water line. May need to unplug machine and unsecure it to pull it out for inspection. Good luck, best regards.

Moen shower valve turns on full to cold water but flow becomes minimal when valve is turned to warm/hot. not getting enough warm water to shower. can this be fixed without rplacing the valve?

yes and no. Find hot water heater and insure cold water supply valve is open all the way. check to see if there is a hot water supply value and that its open all the way. If you replace shower value over iron pipe on the hot side it is corroded up replace pipe and value. If copper, find hot side, find value and open it up.

No hot water, and low pressure

Do you get hot water at other faucets? If not, check to see if the valves at your hot water heater are completely open. You may also have a blockage somewhere in the hot water line.

If you aren't getting hot water at just one faucet, it's likely that the hot water side of the valve needs to be repaired. It could be that there is a blockage in the valve that needs to be cleaned out, or seals in the valve may need to be replaced. Rebuild kits are available for many shower faucets at your local hardware store.

Be sure to turn off the water supply before attempting to disassemble the shower valve.

Water flows in cold side of water valve and out hot side valve

It seems unlikely that something went wrong just from moving it unless it got banged up!
It sounds like you may have stripped the hot side.
I'm assuming the water is going in the cold side and out the hot side and out the back.
If this is so and you are happy with just cold water try this:
Go to a Plumbing Store and buy a cap for the leaking intake...if it still leaks you can try soldering the two together!
I hope this was helpful.
Good Luck!

Maytag Insignia hot water dripping only (5 yrs old)

sounds like the diaphram in the water inlet valve is going on the hot water side. you need to replace the whole valve. turn off water and remove hoses. remove the housing that holds the valve and remove the valve. replace and reassemble.
