My dish washer sucks

Does it fill? You should be able to hear it fill and then see water in the bottom of the tub when you open the door. If it is not filling it is one thing, if it is not spraying it is another issue. Let me know

Water goes into tub and drains right back out without agitating

Hello, welcome to FixYa. I understand you have a washer, "water goes into tub and right back out", correct ? To address this, and as long as water is indeed entering the unit here`s what I find is most common when dealing with the symptom you`ve described ( as long as water isn't filling over the top...that indicates a different issue ) I'd suspect the drain hose is lying down on the floor or is pushed down into the stand-pipe too far. If the drain hose is below the water level entering the washer it will siphon out immediately. The drain hose must be above the highest point the washer has to fill, ( refer to your manual, but it is typically recommended to be about "48 to "60 in height but not more than 90" or so ) **The standpipe drain requires a minimum diameter standpipe of 2" (5 cm). The minimum carry-away capacity can be no less than 17 gal. (64 L) per minute. A 2" (5 cm) diameter to 1" (2.5 cm) diameter standpipe adapter kit is available. " The top of the standpipe must be at least 39" (99 cm) high and no higher than 96" (244 cm) from the bottom of the washer.** Also if it is in a stand pipe insure it isn't pushed in too far, just a few inches and then secure it without completely covering over the opening or that too will cause it to siphon. Check your drain hose. Let me know if this was indeed the case and if so please rate the solution accordingly. If not we can move forward from there. Thank's for coming to FixYa and good luck. Regards,

Washer will load and drain at the same time, hence it never reaches or fill up.

Will not fill with water but works on spin cycle

If your washer won't fill with water, but works in the spin cycle then the washer is sensing that water is in the tub. If there isn't water in the tub, then it is probably a sensor. If there is water but the spin cycle doesn't get it out, then look at the pump or control board.

Washer leaks water back ln tub after final spin

are you sure the water valve isn't bad and the washer is filling even after it shut off?try this, after you use it shut off the water supply to see if it doesn't have water in it,the only way the water can leak back in is if the end of the drain hose is in say the sink and the water rises up and the hose is in the water and the hose is lower than the top of the washer then it could siphon back into the washer but check to see if you have a bad water valve on the back of the washer, dirt gets in the valve and it can't close all the way and the washer keeps filling even when it's off.let me know what you find.

Kenmore washer model 110 26712690 fills up with water and does nothing. wife said she smelt something burning. I thought maybe a belt but when I took it apart I didnt see any belts.

no belts in a kenmore,if it filled with water and stopped most likely you have a bad lid switch.close the lid, open it up a few inches and close it down a few times,if you don't hear a clicking sound every time you open and close it the lid switch is bad.,if you already have it apart, you can jump it out,the white harness you disconnected next to the right clip is the lid switch harness, stick a wire in the two outside holes, put it on spin and pull the timer out,it will run.the model number you sent isn't correct,i was gonna give you the part number and price of the switch, just give it to your parts store and they will sell you the correct part.

My washer isn't getting cold water & now makes a loud knocking sound when trying to start. sometimes it will (only in hot water) wash clothes, but quits when having to fill for rinse

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else- like the control board not feeding it the correct voltage ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Washer will not fill up!

The water is siphoning out as it fills. Your drain hose is too low or has a air block. Remove the drain hose from the drain. Set the washer to fill. Hold the drain hose up higher than the washer. If it fills correctly and starts agitating, correct the drain hose problem.
