Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5866-900 SteamVac Deluxe Wet/Dry. You probably have a couple of brushes that are broken – the brushes are and assembly unit and would have to replace the entire brush assembly, and you are correct that the suction part of the vacuum is probably plugged up. You can take a wire hanger and use that to try to clear the clogged opening, but to be honest you may have to disassemble the vacuum and clean it entirely and replace the brush assm and any type of belt if needed. Pleas, feel free to check with your local vac dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Why does my steamvac not suction the water up?

Typically there is a little red filter accessible from the bottom of the cleaner. Lay it down and flip it over to take a look. It's a little screen like filter. Large particles than can possibly cause a clog are filtered out there. Just pull it out (it will only come out part way) and clean the debris from it.

I have a Hoover Steam Vac also. Learned that trick the hard way. If that's not the problem (it usually is) then I will need the model number from your machine. Hopefully they didn't put it on the bottom of the machine where the numbers wear off. That's where mine was.

Dirty water is leaking back out

After shut off all steamvacs will leak dirty water that was sucked up back out. There is always some left in the nozzle. If it is a large amount there is clogged filter that isnt allowing the proper suction. Refer to your manual or go to hoover.com to download one for cleaning directions.

Hoover turbine replacement

first you must remove the dirty water tank then the nozzle window on top of the machine. (this is the clear piece that the dirty water is sucked through.) then remove all 8 screws from the bottom along with the 1 screw on the main housing. after all this the top housing will be snapped into the base at two spots in the rear of the upper housing. when these are loose the housing should be out. you will find the turbine in the front along with 2 more screws and 2 hoses that also must come off. attach new part and reassemble.
good luck!!!

My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Leaking Hoover Steamvac

Either you have a crack in the tank and it is running down the indise of the handle and going out the bottom, or there is a water line off either under where the tank sits or under the top cover.

Hoover widepath steamvac

One cause is the filter in the dirty water tank lid is pushed up too high, it needs to have a gap of 1/4 in or so. So check it, if it is up all the way, pull it down some.
