Every now and then I hear a "thumping" sound. Could it possibly be a "grounding" issue?

I have found my problem and it could be yours also. The dust cover on the speaker had come unglued and was banging . It kept getting worse. when I took the speaker out I found the problem by hooking up the speaker to receiver without the amp and the problem was obvious immediately. Glued the cover back on and problem solved.

I have a Vienna Deluxe and in process beans are ground and you hear the thump thump and then no espresso comes out for espresso shots and then the red light goes on?

Hi John,
your message lacks from preciseness... What is this thump thump ?
Do you hear the water pump running ?
If yes, and nothing comes out, the pipe after the pump may be clogged, or a valve (solenoid driven) may also be blocked or cogged.
Try to locate the issue more precisely, then dismount the suspected items, clean and de-scale them, change the o-rings, lube the joints (grease) and remount the reverse way. If it does not work, that's because you still have not located the faulty part.
Retry another time.
Good luck !

Rear thumping

John,
i have the exact same problem in my 2010 Veracruz. Had it to the dealer 5 times. They say they can't "duplicate" the sound. They say they check the suspension and all is ok. I leave the dealership and the next day I hear the thumping. I also notice that on a snow covered road, the car is very hard to hang on to. Seems like when you go down the road, the rear end wants to kick out to the right. Personally, I think there is something wrong with the drivetrain. Possible an issue with the AWD trying to kick in the right rear wheel. Wheel Speed Sensor?? Who knows?? I'm really frustrated. The dealer is useless.

Are you using a voltage adapter of some kind to convert the ireland standard 220VAC to the USA standard 120VAC that this device uses? Over voltage can deplete an electronics life very quickly.
By the sound of the "thump-thump-thump" noise emitting from the device, you may have a broken ipod dock connector, or a short somewhere in the connector/wiring/device itself, or the ground has failed.
By the description of having to "tweak" your ipod to hear it, it sounds like you've slowly broken the dock connector. Check to see if it moves easily, or if you can hear anything loose.
This is more than likely fixable, but it's probably easier to replace the device than to fix a broken connector.

My mackie thump amp will start to have a loud cracking sound. The cracking goes away if I have the input line unplugged from the speaker but with it plugged in it has the cracking sound and it does not...

Crackling is usally one or two things my guess would be bad grounding of the amp or bad connection with the jacks or plug it self try to make it crackle on purpose by jiggling the jacks see if it has any effect on the crackling try to narrow your possibilitys

2010 camry click sound at the front, as the car start firt acceleration in drive gear. thanks

yes, i just bought a 2010 camry in Decmber 09, it hasn't been a month yet, and I hear that light "thump" sound coming from the hood, when the car is put into drive after turning it on. As i drive off, and the spee reaches 15 mph, i hear that thump sound. The dealership said that that is due to the ABS system being initialized. How many other people hear that. For some people it might not be a thump type of sound it might be a loud "click" type of sound. Please let us know. Thanks.

You either have a bad ground from your amp to the vehicle or a problem with the amp. Where is the amp grounded? Do not ground an amp to a seat bolt or side panel on any vehicle. The weld points on the car itself cause issue with ground. Take the ground wire directly thru the bottom panel (floor) Check befor you drill! don't hit a wire/fuel line, etc. That will give you a solid ground. Keep your ground wire length to a minimum. 18" or less, and use the same gauge wire for ground as you do for power. Hope this helps

It does sound like one of the universal joints. If you can raise the back end off the ground engage gear and the faulty u/v joint will make the wheel jump. This will let you know which side it is

Subwoofer "thumping" w. no audio feed

You need to check your ground connection. If there is a bad ground there will be feedback to the amp and it will just sit there and loop back with the Thump, Thump, Thump sound. I had to wire my amp's ground all the way back to the negative battery terminal. It was a pain but I have never had a problem since :)
