Having problems connecting to the tv. the colored cable connectors in the back of the tv. Screen shows Error E74

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.

Take it to a repair shop.

If you have 1 red light flashing it is normally E74 or some other E error you need to stop the heat.

You can send it in and Microsoft will do it for you or you can repair it yourself using a good guide

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

The HDMI cable was causing "Display connected non-HDCP compliant" error message to appear.
When I reconnected my DVD to TV using regular cable with 3 color connectors(i don't know what is the proper name for that cable) that error message no longer appears on my screen and I was able to watch my movie normally.

after all the things i did i could not fix the e74 i had to send the box in to get fixed e74means ur system is fried slayer2290

Take a flashlight and magnifying glass and look at the S-Video connector on the back of the TV. Check to see that there aren't any pins or other debris stuck in the four holes.

One pair of holes is for the brightness (luma) signal, which gives you the black and white picture, and the other pair of holes is for the color (chroma) signal, which seems to not be functioning.

If there's nothing in the holes, then the internal connection may be flakey. Try gently wiggling the plug on the TV side and see if color returns, even briefly.

Does your TV have other inputs like component YPbPr?

E74 for XBOX 360 is a hardware failure.  Unplug all controllers, hard drives, memory card(s).  Unplug and reseat the power cable and the A/V  cable.  Check the power supply to see that color led lights up when you turn the console on.  If it is red or orange it is an issue with the power supply (either overheating or too much/too little power.  If you are plugging the power supply into a cheap surge protector plug it directly into the wall.  If none of these suggestions work then you need to contact Microsoft.

I had the same problem. It turned out the issue was that I had the VGA Y-cable connectors between the PC and the KWorld box reversed. They look like they should be interchangeable, but they are not. A closer look at the cable connectors shows that one is marked "PC", one is marked "Monitor", and the 3rd is marked "SCAN CNVTR". Once I got them plugged into the right places, I got the screen image on the TV.

this sounds like the e74 error ,these dots will make the screen fuzzy like cod 4 and 5 its the video chip thats near the av cable slot need service and can result to one ring of death aka e74 error.
