I have a Radio Shack 3 in 1 remote and im trying to program in my dvd player which is a magnavox nd it's asking for a 4 digit code that i dont have. Can you help me?

You can find the manual for the Radio Shack 4-in-1 Remote 15-2142 at ManualsLib and some other sites. No Magnasonic DVD players are listed. If your Magnasonic DVD/VCR was built more than 6 months before the remote was programmed, then the remote has the best chance of having the correct code. The copyright date for the manual appears to be 1999.

I hope this helps. You may want to try searching through all of the codes. Many electronics manufacturers use a common supplier for the IR sensor chip and encoding.

It would be helpful to have the model number for your 3-in-One remote. However, most of the codes are common for your Apex DVD player. These are codes a RadioShack Remote for an Apex DVD player. 0672, 0717, 0755, 0794, 0795, 0796, 0797, 083. Press the button for DVD on your remote. Then press and hold the Program button until it blinks. then, enter your 4-digit code, after entering, the Program button will blink. Aim the remote at the DVD and press the Power button on the remote. If the DVD turns off, then the remote is programmed for the DVD player. If not, repeat instructions and enter another code, until one is found that will turn off the DVD when the power button is pressed.You can also download an owners manual from RadioShack.com with the model number of your unit.

Radio Shack should be under $25 and there Remotes are usually made by RCA a division of Phillips, RCA is the Mfg of Most Polaroid/Kodak Audio/Visual equipment. Unless it has a lot of features, I'm sure it only uses a 3 digit remote code, If you need  a 4 digit remote code Remote it might cost you more than that. make sure you take the model # with you to Radio Shack & they will be able to tell you if you need a 3 or a 4 digit remote code remote. : )     Jay..........

This is just a suggestion I have not tried it myself but it might be worth a try. Go to Radio Shack and take the remote for the dvd player with you (if you have it of course) ask one of the guys there if they have any of those teachable remotes that can read the code from each of your remotes and store them into it. If they are very helpful like most Radio Shack employees they will offer to do this. Some of these remotes will actually display the 3 digit code that it has stored for each device. Once you have the 3 digit code enter it into your universal remote back at home and give it a try.

Most remotes use the same code sets. Here's what Radio Shack says for your brand:

dvd: 0503,0539,0646,0675,0821,1268,1914

vcr:0000,0039,1137,1479
