SOURCE: changed cpu on an abit va-10 mb but the fsb stays at 266

Unless the mobo is compliant with a front side bus speed of 333mhz, the cpu you have will only run at 266mhz max, in other words the cpu will down-clock to the 266mhz bus clock and therfore run more slowly. check with the mbo handbook, or on CMOS tosee if yoy can change the fsb setting. ask for more help if needed.Can you give me the full code of the mobo ?

SOURCE: Set CPU/FSB speed on KT40A-ANH MB

Don't screw around with jumpers. There are a buttload of fan speed hacks for software on the computer. Google Fan speed hack and you might find one that works.

Power on ok but no display. ram not detect

First disable the onboard VGA then put in a known good AGP graphics card to see if you can get through the POST if your BIOS i rejects the RAM chips it should give you a short series of beeps this would indicate that the memory is not compatible as a rule of thumb PC2700 speed memory is for a motherboard and processor with a 133Mhz FSB this is quaded to 533MHz. you can usually place faster memory but not slower memory look at the table below for rated Frontside Bus Speeds.

CPU FSB DDR DIMM Type Memory Frequency
---------------------------------------------------------------------
800 MHz PC3200/PC2700*/PC2100 400/333*/266 MHz (min busspeed 200Mhz)
533 MHz PC2700/PC2100 333/266 MHz (min busspeed 133Mhz)
400 MHz PC2100 266 MHz (min busspeed 100Mhz)

I have a new MSI p45neo fs main board with E7400 cpu. Could you help me? What should I set the JB1 JB2 Jumpers at 200,200-266, 266-333, 333-400 mhz. The system has 4gb of ddr2@667 and a MSI n9400gt graphs...

Hello,

You can set the jumpers to:

JB2 - Pins 1 and 2
JB1 - Pins 2 and 3

200->266MHz

Your CPU has a FSB of 1066 MHz. (See http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=36500 )

The system uses a "4" multiplier, so the freq. for the above settings would be 800 - 1066 MHz.

You can overclock the CPU at your own risk using the other settings. I would not recommend it, but many do. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for using Fixya.

According to SiS® official document, SiS® 748 chipset has limitation DDR supports:
CPU at FSB 200MHz mode, it will NOT support DDR400
CPU at FSB 333MHz mode, it will NOT support DDR200
CPU at FSB 400MHz mode, it will NOT support DDR200/DDR266

Depends on chipset http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7S8XE

I have an asus p48vx-x motherboard

you may check
1) your Intel pentium 4 3.2 GHZ cpu socket 478 processor #sl7nb what's FSB?( see on the chip surface, if 533 FSB can use but 800FSB could not match your motherboard if which is not support 800 FSB. that's why no display.
2) check RAM stick speed, try to increase a level, for example 266 to 333.
is this helpful please feedback thanks

845gvsr support
single-sided or double-sided DIMMs (ddr333/266/200 or pc2600 or pc2100 or pc1600) up to 2GB check ur RAM FSB (it mustbe 333mhz or 266mhz or 200mhz).
it its within this speed then cleare cmos by removeing cmos battery then install ram and start ur pc. if problem not solve then try with other good known ram (ddr333 or ddr 266 or ddr200). if problem solve then ur ram module r faulty.
(plese give me feedback)

DDR200=PC1600
DDR266=PC2100
DDR333=PC2600

thanks
