Hi if your tom tom is datable, i would try seeing if it could do with an update, i had the same problem with my one it just seemed to take forever to find a satellite and when it did it took ages loading the directions and sometimes even crashed when changing route if i deviated from the original one, so really that would be the best solution, 4if you can, do a reset and install the new updated version, it worked for me, now only takes a minute to find lots of satellite....hope this helps

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Garmin forerunner 205 will not stay OFF and none of the buttons respond.

Yes you can restore your data from the TC after a hard reset. You have to go thtrough the setup menu like chose which language etc first.
Well I have exactly the same problem as you and a hard reset did not work either ...
Upgrading / downgrading the firmware also did not work.... the thing keeps on switching itself on regardless....
Do you have found out something more in the mean time?

Satelite connection very weak, takes very long to connect, losses connection very easy, then take a very long time to reconnect, basically rendering this device useless on trips

I had the exact same problem with my 1300. Even used the word "useless" to describe its functionality. After every software update and reboot, etc. the signal strength never improved, even on a clear day with the unit outside my vehicle. Unfortunately, the only solution offered by Garmin online support was to return it. Email them and describe your problem, and they should give you a Return Material Authorization number and instructions. Haven't gotten mine back yet, so I can't tell you if they really fixed it or not.

Make sure your NAT is set to open. If it's restricted you may not be able to connect to alot of your friends or games. You can change this by accessing your router through an internet browser.

Cda 9886 installed and says interrupt

verify all your wires are correct. if anything, just plug the ignition power(red) constant power(yellow) and ground(negative) and turn it on and see if it still says interrupt. If it does try to see if it has a reset button and try that. If not, try connectiong the rca's one at a time and see if it gives you the same problem with the rca's, wich would indicate a short with the rca's. If it works ok after connecting the rca's, then go to your individual speaker wires and see if you have a short with one of your speakers. Hopefully it's not the head unit itself.

I know of two Bonnevilles that leak into the back seat and floor when it rains. Is this a common problem with this late 90s cars

Yes and No, depending if the car has been sitting out in the sun longer than others. over times seal tend to wear or rotten especially the one setting out more in the sun. back window tend to get beaten more its the way the window sit exposing more to the sun, beside the front windshield which has stronger and thicker rubber. Manufacture who produce those rubber seals for GM, I never though they were good seal. GM always has problems with there rubber seals when it come to convertible and T- tops. back in the the early 80's to the late 90's was horrible. 2000' are much improvement.

Garmin Nuvi often cannot find satellites. Problem is intermittent but frequent.

It could be that the memory already have too much satelites selected. There should be a reset button somewhere (i'm not shure where though...) This master reset will clear the satelites in the memory and when turned on the first time it will start searching for new satilites since its memory is blank.
This might solve the problem...

Garmin GPS problem

I have a 276C that has the same problem. Garmin has a unit with this problem and is working on a solution. The problem is that the real time clock loses time when the unit is turned off and disconnected from a power source. As a result when you turn on the unit it thinks the satelites are in a different orbit than where they actually are. The unit will continue trying to aquire forever and not find the satelites. You have to select "New Location" from the menu and select "Autolocate" and the unit will start to look for any satelites in view. The unit should get a fix within 15 minutes. This is a very frustrating problem having to reset it every day. There is a new version of firmware (5.3). I don't know if the problem has been fixed with this release.

I have an LG 42" 42PX4DV Plasma, keeps resetting itself.

Do you use a regular antenna, or cable/satelits tuner?

I use only satelite tuner, and had the same problem on a differnt TV. I solved it by connecting a regular antenna (actually just a piece of cable) and go through the search and store routine once. Then the TV remembered that it was configured. Before that it thought it was "fresh out of the box" every time.
