Question about Kenwood Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

Hi, I have a rather dated Stereo system from about 1988-1989. I got it when I first moved out from home. Anyway, it is a Kenwood Spectrum 67B system. I am trying to wire it together myself, as opposed to asking family members (one mechanical engineer, one electrical engineer, one systems design engineer, one draftsman). There are four parts to it: A KA-127 amplifier, a KT 57 tuner, a KX 67W turntable, and CD player. I have several white-and-red, two-prong cords and some plastic red and black intwined cords as well. I'm not exactly sure what goes where, I do have a diagram but was wondering if there are any manuals that go back that far for a system from 1988. If someone could at least steer me in the right direction, I would appreciate it! Thanks, Joan

It's a safe bet that all input sources (Radio tuner, CD player, TTbl, etc plug into the corresponding INPUT on the amplifier.

Looking at the manual the only connectors are RCA cables, you can purchase RCA cables from any radio shack or stereo shop, or any car audio shop.

How can i hook up my kenwood stereo control amplifier KC-105 to my GPX home stereo system?

If the GPX has an headphone output you could use the a stereo headphone jack to two phono cables lead. Connect them to the "aux" socket of the amp, or another suitable - not a phono or deck - socket.
You would have to keep the volume level low on the GPX unit, but apart from that all the functions should work.

Kenwood amplifier

A home stereo system is not complete without an amplifier which drives the speakers. A preamp cannot drive a speaker. Try to read the labels at the back of the system...if it reads speaker then that is the amplifier output. Would you mind giving us what model is your system?

I have a kenwood stereo integrated amplifier KA 791 and the dual cassete KXw892, niether will come on. when plugged in the standby light only comes on. the reciever and cd player components come on fine?...

That system came with the kt591 tunner in a bundle which consisted of what you call the Kenwood Spectrum 700 rack system, you had to plug the tuner into the wall and then plug the amp into the tunner if you didnt , when you turn the amp on you just get a relay clicking noise and nothing turned on.
