Question about Pentair White/Gray Legend Platinum Automatic Pool Cleaner - Ll105pm

1 Answer

I just replaced the tires on my Legend Platinum because the originals were totally wore down. I unplugged the pool fitting to clean out the little filter. After I reseated the connection (nice and tight) and turned the cleaner on, a whining noise was coming from the pool fitting and the Legend had little power. I've cleaned the little filter many times but this is the first time I've heard this noise. The only thing different this time was new tires. Any ideas?

You may need to replace the wall fitting and the fitting that houses the screen. If you look at the fittings and find a tab broken or the track it runs in hurt that will tell the tale. The least amount of damage will cause pressure loss and the noise you hear.

Wheels turning slow on legend pool cleaner

Water supply issue...
Most likely reason = clogged finger screen at pool wall fitting adaptor, this needs to be cleaned regularly. If no finger screen, then the debris that would've been trapped, has clogged your internals of the cleaner!
all orifices will need to be cleaned.

There are a couple fittings used between the wall and pipe,
Start with these:
Wall Fitting, Gray - Part Number LLW22PM
Wall Fitting, Complete - EW22
Quick Disconnect Adapter, Gray - LL23PM
If these aren't what you need let me know.

Pentair Platinum Legend gets stuck between my bar stools and the wall

This question is a little vague. You have bar stools in your pool? If so, you should remove them before cleaning. If you are using this pool cleaner outside of the pool, you are using it improperly and probably ruining it.

The hose, where it connects to the pool wall, will not stay in-it blows out when the cleaner comes on

Check the Universal Wall Fitting to be sure the two tabs are not broken. If they are, and I assume they will be or they are word down to far, replace the fitting. It is less than $5 at most pool stores.

Legend 2 pool cleaner auto back-up feature stopped working

Make sure you have a clean filter and clean wall fitting screen. Pull hose out of water and lay it so you can watch the back-up mode go through its mode. The housing might be crack and have a leak which might not give the valve enough power.

Pentair letro legend platinum - will not work

Sounds like there is a restriction somewhere. Places to look are the Wall Fitting Screen, make sure that is clean. The Debris bag, and the black cone shape valve, should also be checked for blockage.
Check for leaks in the hose also. You shold check the Float also, if it has water in it, that needs to be replaced. Wear on the tires can cause this also, check them, too. Those are the EASY fixes.

If none of those, then the blockage may be INSIDE the unit. If you have a manual, look at the Product Breakdown and Parts page. If you do not have a manual, this link will take you to one online:

The page you will need to look at is page 15, on the online manual, Exploded View. Any of the internal small hoses, like #10 and #11, can be blocked. Any of the small elbow turns, like the one part #10 connects to, can be blocked. Also, on the tube that the Ballast Float connects to there are small elbows that can cause this issue. LOTS of little parts and places to look for a piece of debris that is cause the cleaner to not work properly.
