Set security on router with IP address http://192.168.0.0, not
http://192.168.0. you'll also need to know the password to enter
the router's configuration/management page - check you manual - the default password will be there.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: set up router/modem as instructed

Problem can't be solved as described, a fixer would need more details.

What kind of modem/router is it?
What instructions are you working from so far (you say, "as instructed" so I take it you're looking at a Quick Start Guide of some sort?)
How are you connected to it?
What http address are you going to (E.g. some routers use 192.168.1.1, others 192.168.1.254 or various alternatives)
What happens when you enter that address on a browser?
Have you set your computer's address to a nearby address so it can talk to the route?

If I had one guess with not enough information, I'd say you need to set your PC to an address one different from the target you're going to.

Wireless internet is provided with a wireless router. The router will be what you set up for the WEP or WPA codes.

I have problem setting up my wireless network and redirecting my wireless client to my local webpages before they can access to internet.   see this diagram below :...

you need to replace your modem with a router that is capable of running Network Address Translation. You are trying to route private IP's (192,168.x.x) over the public IP (internet) network.

ok this is simple but at the same time kinda confusing open an internet window and type in 192.168.1.1 the password on defalt is going to be eather password or admin and the username is admin after you get past the login it should take you to a setup page click on wireless at the top  after you click on wireless just under that click wireless security thats the settings to change the wireless security in there you can chose what type of secutiry you want i normaly use wap2 on TKIP after setting those type the password you want after that save it and close the window on all the computers that use wireless your going to have to disconnect them and reconnect them from the network it will ask for the password enter it and make sure it saves the password and your set if you have any problems in the process let me know if be glad to help

Secutiry issue

You will need to access your router and configure your wireless settings. If you are uncertain about the password/username to access the router 0 then you might find it on label at the backside of the router.

Failing this - the favourite combinations are :

Username admin

Password admin

or sustitute "password" (without the quotes) as the password. If that does not work then you could "google" the question.

Secutiry for BelkinF5D7230-4 router using Vista

Hi, here's a quick guide for you:

1. Connect to the router via Ethernet cable

2. Login to the router via a web browser, by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar

3. Click to login, leaving password blank (unless you have set a password)

4. Go to Wireless > Security. Select Security Mode WPA-PSK.
Enter your network key (password) under ‘Pre-shared key’ – make a note of it – click ‘Apply Changes’. That’s it, your wireless is encrypted.

For better security/more details:

1. Pick up a manual from Belkin UK
2. When you’re in your user interface, change the SSID and router password for a better level of security (see this tip for more details).

Hope this helps, but please come back to Fixya if anything doesn't work, or if you need more info. Good luck

Hook up to the router over ethernet

Browse to 192.168.2.1 (Assuming you havent changed Ip Address)
Click Secutiry in the left menu.
Enter Username and Password if required, click submit.

Youll now be able to see your WEP or WPA key
