Question about GE Washing Machines
The machine's performance is apparently normal if it agitates, drains, spins, and gets clothes clean. The apparent locking up the drive pulley in the CW does not indicate any problem, that's normal. Otherwise, the machine will not work properly. The burning smell is coming from the motor itself that's why it reoccurs each time the machine is used. The motor is overheating, starting to go out, and may need to be replaced soon.

What this indicate is that the panel of the washer has over gone some stress over time, the way that the washer can give sign to show it weakness is to bring out odor from the panel connected to the power supply or the motor connected tot he drum after some in agitation which might need a replacement or little service .
Hear are tip below for service.
what you are to do to solve this problem is to carefully unscrew the washer with screw driver (technician tools) then trace the main wire that supply power over to the washer it is connected to the panel and the control unit first clean up all form of liquid around the panel then note a you are do that is there is any form of damage from the panel or you cam get the odor from the it or not then you do same to the drum if you can not fine any from the panel
and if after this the problem remain then you will need to replace the panel
Please note you will hae to put off all form of power supply connected to the washer before carry out this home work.
