I have a memorex 700MB dvd/cd , i made a video for my family for christmas and ever type i press burn it says disc type mismatch... i need help! please.

You need to use a DVD+R disc or a DVD-R disc to burn a video. It sounds as if you have made a DVD type video and put a CD-R in the slot and your burning software is detecting that and refusing to put the data on the disc, knowing that it wouldn't play on a DVD player.
Look at the front of your dvd drive - if it has a "DVD" symbol with an oblong disc below it and says "-R -RW" then you need to use a DVD-R disc. If it has a symbol of a big "RW" then you need a DVD+R disc. If it has both, then you should be able to use either one.

Error message that says boot disc error. there is

This is either a corrupt file system or a bad hard drive. You'll need to boot from a Rescue CD like BartPE or a Windows CD and run chkdsk on the drive to see if the file system has just become corrupt. If that fails, you may need to run "fixboot" and "fixmbr" from the recovery console. If those fail, or if chkdsk comes back and says it can't repair the damage, then you probably need a new hard drive.

I bought a ET1331G-03w at Wal-Mart. I want to create recovery disks. I follow the instructions given with the product....For Windows 7 click (start)> All programs>emachines> eMachines Recovery...

What type of disks are you using? You cannot use DVD RW. You need to use DVD - R . I have had this very issue. Hope this helps.

PS, once it tries to write to a dvd and fails, try a new one.

When putting the recovery disc in it will run a few minutes then say free disc error

Normally you want to boot the pc with the recovery disc in. Some recovery programs work best on boot up. If not check the cd to make sure it is not scratched. Also try it in another pc to rule out a bad cd-rom.

Uninstall everything. Reboot. Unplug the printer. Install the software. Reboot. When everyting is up. Plug in the printer. Have the driver disc ready, install the printer. Reboot, go to settings, printers and see if the printer is listed. If it is, make it the default printer.Good luck

Windows xp

The hard drive may be defective. It is very difficult to fix a computer problem over email unless it is a common type of fault. Get a computer tech to check this out for you.

Convert Amstrad Word Processor Files to PC

i would suggest you search the internet for freeware ,of the same type of program you have on the old Amstrad disc's
they will be:
  • Free
  • better quality
  • up to date
it just would not be worth while trying to find then use an emulator, if in fact there is one available to do what you require,

good luck

I have wre54G wireless range expander that I cannot get my laptop to connnect to. I put the startup disc in and have the expander set next to the AT&T router but it can't find my network. I have...

Get a the cable that came with the wre54g. Plug one end into your laptop and the other end into the wre54g.
In the start menu is an icon that says run, click on it. type "control netconnections" right click the "local area connection" and go to properties. In the scrolling screen you will see Internet Protocol. Double click it and manually enter
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
then hit ok.

Open internet explorer and type http://192.168.1.240
username is blank (leave empty)
password is admin

Navigate the menus to find where you can scan for your wireless network. Select it and enter the appropriate security information. If you have the key code is under the AT&T router.
Save everything and you are ready to go.
