Check what cycle iut is on and make sure it is on the cycle that gets hot . The one that says knits and cottons does not get real hot. Also go to your breaker box and see if the breaker for the dryer has one of the two breakers tripped. It runs on 220 volt to run the element so it has two 110 volt switches side by side and it is possible one has tripped but not the other so reset both just to make sure. You may also want to check the back to see if the exhaust tube is not kinked and it is not letting the air out properly. These are things we can try for starters and they are often the cause. if this helpes please don't forget to click on the yes box on your way out. Thanks and good luck.

    hey there
Yes it could definitely be the element and it is at the back behind the drum. If it is broken you can usually see that it has become weak and come apart somewhere. This is a definite possibility but it is good to check all the other options before going this far.
Hope this helped and good luck..let me know how it goes. Thanks

CLOTHES WONT DRY. IT GETS REALLY HOT INSIDE. THEY SEEM WETTER AFTER IT RUNS FOR AWHILE. TAKES PROLLY 3 HRS TO DRY.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

I have a whirlpool dryer and the heating eleiment is getting hot but the dryer inside is barley warm

Inside of the dryer gets warmed up when the drum rotates as there is circulation of air. Hope your clothes are drying. If it takes long time then clean the screen filter as it gets clogged with the flint from clothes. As a matter of routine clean this filter every time you use it before starting the drying process.

Dryer is hot when opened, but takes 3 or 4 timed cycles to get clothes dry on very dry setting and timed setting

Check for a restriction in exhaust system, not just behind unit but all the way to outside vent, should feel warm decent airflow at outside vent.If not all you will end up with is warm moist clothes,You need good airflow to take away the moisture in the clothes not just heat. This issue can happen slowly over time and next thing you know its taking two or three times longer to dry even though when you open the door its hot inside.
Good luck

Doesn't get very hot

The only thing that will fail later on in the cycle would be your gas coils. They come with the gas valve on all LG's. But if your getting heat all the way through the cycle then I would check your venting and make sure its not restricted. This will cause long dry times. Hope this helps. _MJ_

Dryer warm but not hot, long dry times

some times there are multiple heating elements in there and if one is out it does not get as hot. another simpler place to start would be to make sure your line is clear of debries all the way from dryer to out doors. this is a good idea any way since lint build up can cause the occasional house fire.
