Question about Frigidare FEF336EC Stainless Steel Electric Kitchen Range
It sounds like it is the magnetron of the device, which is very difficult and expensive to repair. For an 8 year old microwave I'd say it's definitely not worth trying to repair it, it will be much more cost effective to just replace the device.
Sorry about the bad news, you can get it repaired but it will cost as much as a new microwave unit.
