Question about Whirlpool LER7646E Dryer

Dryer not drying on the first 70 mins

My dryer is not drying all of my clothes after the first run. The heating coil comes on during the cycle and I see that it comes on the goes off the dryer is hot. I took the back off and cleaned out all of the lint. I also replaced the the vent and also used my blower to the outside vent so I am not sure if I should replace the heating coil or the dryer all together.

LONG dry time is an indication of a clogged or restricted exhaust. Clogged or restricted exhaust is the primary cause of failure in all residential dryers. Blowing the the system with a shop vac is only a temporary solution. The system needs to be cleaned (2 to 3 times per year) with a rotary brush to scrape lint collecting from the sides of the pipe. Suggest going to Lowes and purchasing vent cleaning kit. Read instructions CAREFULLY. Also consider replacing flexible plastic or foil pipe with rigid metal type. Dryer will vent 30% to 40% better. If condition persists for too long, a high limit fuse mounted on the heater will open causing the heater to no longer operate.

I have a Maytag Legacy Series Gas Dryer, model MGD5570TQ0. When we first start it there is heat, but it will not stay hot. It takes 4 or 5, 70 min cycles to get close to dry. Forget jeans or towels. ...

Hello,

The reason your gas heated dryer starts off heating ok,but a part way through the cycle it is no longer heating as it did when it started,is beacuse the coils that open the gas valve are getting hot and breaking down when they are warm. At start up of cycle the coils are cool, but when the dryer heats up as it runs the coils that are weak can not handle the heat and do not open the gas valve. Replacing the gas valve coils with fresh, strong ones will open the gas valve the entire duration of the drying cycle. All appliance manufactures use the same exact gas valve coils and label them with their unique part number. Having been in the service business i know they are all the same and the part number for the least expensive gas valve coils is 279834
They can be purchased at your local appliance parts store on online at
searspartsdirect.com
repairclinic.com
apwagner.com
apdepot.com
midwestapplianceparts.com

To replace the coils, remove bracket over them(dont worry about where it says dont grip thats for when dryer is plugged in) unplug them and install new ones, that bracket has notches in it and the coils have tabs that inter lock so they position them self exactly where they fit.

This is what the coils looks likeoldtech2332_76.jpg

Kenmore gas dryer will heat but not enough to dry anything?

First and foremost check your vent! Make sure it is nice and clean and clear especially if the clothes are coming out warm and damp at the end of the cycle.
If the clothes are cold at the end of the cycle or you find the dryer stops heating about 15 or 20 min after you start it then you will want to replace your gas valve coils.
If you need more help in replacing the coils feel free to ask!

Lgr5620kq1 dryer, heat comes on but does not stay on,

If you find that the dryer initially lights, then goes out and the igniter coil glows, then also goes out, it's the valve solenoid coil, about $25.

There is a temperature limit switch as well. This usually either fails entirely (no heat at all) or operates the burner out of the normal range (often showing up as clothes taking too long to dry).

A clogged dryer vent will cause problems with heat cycling, too.

Gas dry is not heating enough to dry clothes

There is two possible causes. Either your gas coils are going bad late in the cycle or your venting is restricted. I would go outside check to make sure you have good airflow. If you have good airflow outside the only common cause of gas dryers failing to heat late in the cycle would be gas coils. If you have a peep hole on your dryer look in it after your dryer has been running for approx 30 mins and see if the ignitor glows and then shuts off. If the burner does not kick on then you have bad gas coils. They are part number 5303931775.

Let me know if this helps _MJ_

Delic ate cycle taking too long to dry

This is normal because the delicate cycle is a low heat cycle.

Gets warm but not hot enough.

Occaisionally this is due to either dryer being set to a 'delicate' or 'low' setting. Most frequently it's due to an obstruction in airflow so the heating coil is cycling off to prevent overheating. The vent at the back of your dryer should be cleaned out (by sucking out the lint with a vacumn hose) at least once a year. The vent pipe out of your house as well. Make sure that the flap on the outside of your house is opening and allowing free air circulation when the dryer is on. And make sure you clean your lint trap every time you use the dryer.

Kenmore 70 Series gas dryer Dryer will not heat I just moved in and the dryer has not been used in a while. What do I need to do to start it back up?

your flame will not be on all the time during the dry cycle. It cycles to prevent it from over-heating? Do you have clutter on top of it, such as clothes? If yes take everything off of it and never use the top for clothes piles or anything of this nature. When you have stuff on top it insulates it and the excess heat cannot disipate. 90% of the world uses the top for clothes piles. DON'T DO THAT EVER.
Good Luck
