Sounds like the u might be able to update your BIOS. if your not familar with this technique have a pro do it, its easy to do at the manufacturer of your laptop or comp. website under support. downloads
The might not be an update that recognizes above 2 or 4 gb "written" in the bios. old ibm pcs had a similar drawback, also when puttin huge hard drives in a limitation in bios screws up everything
