The first thing you must do is to confirm that you have voltage at the amp. Just because the fuses look good, that doesn't mean you're getting power to the amp.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

With...
the head unit on
the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp
the meter set to DC volts...

Do you read ~12v on BOTH the remote and B+ terminals?

Are the fuses in the amp blown?

SOURCE: how to hook up kenwood kac-7204 1000watt amp

I found the manual & have pasted the url here for you. some things to keep in mind. according to the instruction manual this unit is rated @ 500W, not 1000W. Also to maximize the output you should use 2ohm speakers for stereo applications. Also make sure if you need to extend the power wire, use 10 gauge copper & make sure it's connected to the car battery thru a 60 amp fuse. Also make sure the ground is attached to a clean metal frame or body part by using a bolt & nut not merely a screw. Good luck. If you need additional assistance let me know.

SOURCE: To bridge a Kenwood KAC-9102D

Hello laurogleal,

The Kenwood KAC-9102D is a mono amp. There is no bridging. Having two sets of terminals is just a more convenient way of connecting two subwoofers. The amp is stable down to 2 ohms impedance, so it is safe to run 2 4 ohm loads in parallel.

Hope this helps.

How to hook up a kenwood amp.kac-5204

All amps are basicly the same. It should be plain as day where the speakers connect to.
The 12V screw connects to the main power from battery, be sure to fuse that wire and use a proper size wire, thicker is better,I suggest at least 8gauge with 40amp fuse. The GND is ground and should connect to car metal, file paint for soild connection. The REM is remote and connects to the remote of headunit or if you have a stock deck to the acc of car found in wire harness of headunit. Plug in the RCA's to head unit, or get a converter to plug into speaker wires from car if you have a stock headunit.

Are all the wires hooked in right? On the bare parts of the wires, are there any 2 wires touching? Most importantly, do you have the correct fuse for the stereo?

Where do i connect the power control wire to ? I have a kenwood amp kac 7202, I'm connecting it to a stock cd receiver in toyota corolla 2004

Hello sophnettliss,

Most stock receivers do not have a dedicated amp remote lead and your 2004 Corolla is no exception.

The amp remote can be connected to any switched and fused 12V + source including the OEM receiver accessory wire which is the gray wire in your receiver harness.

Hope this helps.

Amp shuts off when switched from radio to cd

your amps rem wire is hooked to the power antenna wire on your head unit and so when you turn off the radio you would nolonger need an antenna so it powers down and would lower the antenna.Depending on the head unit you should have one output for the power antenna and one for the amp rem......If your head unit doesn't have the rem output you can wire it to the switched wire that powers your head unit but keep in mind the amp will stay on while you have the key in acc or run position even if your head unit is off.
hope this helps!

Kenwood KAC-7202 wont turn on

I have found the problem to my Kenwood KAC-7202. The amps fan was the only thing that would come on thats it. So I started checkin zener diodes cause all transistors checked out fine. So I remember readinf about a guy that had same problem and took it to a shop and they said it was some diodes. Well, thats what I was thinkin or the transformer. It turned out that 1 zener diode was no good, diode D9 1ss133. I took a zener out of an old vcr I use for parts and put it in and the fan came on as usual then the red light. Then I hooked my mp3 player to the rca input and hooked up some speakers and it works great. Hope this helps you other guys with the same problem. Check your zener diodes with a digital volt meter, if you get any measurement other than the reverse impedance which will read between 600 and 1200 ohms some lower or higher and then reverse the leads on your meter and if you get any reading it's no good and the reading will be 0-50 cause mine read 047 ohms.
