If you are sure its a wireless router and you cant find it with your pc then maybe your pc's wifi (wireless finder) is spoilt or your router is faulty. try using a different pc to try connecting using the wireless to help determine if the problem is from your pc or router

Printed user manual for Netgear Wireless-G router WGR614

You will need below things to connect your router.
Cable and Router.

  • Locate the WLAN and DNA ethernet port plugs on the back of the router. You will see the terms "WLAN" or "DNA" written near the ports. Plug the cable that was included in the router's pack into the back plugs. Place the router on top of a desk or a shelf.
  • Plug the other end of the cable into an outlet. Push the plug until you hear a small click, which means the security fastener has been activated.
  • Turn the router on. Wait until all lights are flashing and you see an icon appear on your desktop. Run the installation disk that was supplied with the router. Follow the steps and instructions by the manufacturer to set up the software for the router.
  • Click on the "Network Connections" button. Choose your router's network, which is usually set to be the name of the router. Click "Connect" and enter the password for the network. You can find the password printed on a sticker at the base of the router.

No ethernet connection on my computer thats hooked up directly to the 2wire router. how do i acquire ethernet connection?

My guess is that the 2wire router has a DTE plug and a DCE plug. The DTE plug is meant to plug in to your DSL modem, while the other plugs are meant to plug into computers.
If you move the plug, it might work, assuming you have an upstream and downstream connection on the router.
Failing that:
Make sure the cable is an ethernet cable and not a phone cable,
Make sure the wires are run straight through. If it is a crossover cable, it might be meant to connect a DTE to a DTE without a hub, and it won't connect a computer to a router port.
Try a different cable.
Try a different computer (borrow one, etc.)

My router will not power on after a power outage. Is this something that can be fixed?

Test the transformer with a volt meter, should get +5 volts on the center of the plug. If not, purchase a 5 volt 2.8 amp. transformer that will plug into the router. A good tech could splice the plugs if you can't find a transformer that will plug into the router.
If the transformer is good, then the router is bad. Ebay or purchase a newer model.

Ok i need help on setting up my router so that my internet is working fast without having to be plugged up to a modem.

If your asking for help setting up your router,

Unplug the power to the modem, plug in the ethernet/network cable to the cable modem and then to the internet/wan port on your router

plug in the network cable to one of the four lan ports on the router into your computer.

plug in the power to the modem first, wait till the internet/online light goes solid, about 1 minute, then plug in the router to power wait 30 seconds.

You should be good.

To program the router open up internet explorer and in the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 press enter or click go

password by default is username is empty or blank, and password is admin

2300 router not sending signal or allowing flow to computer

First unplug router, turn off computer. Then plug ethernet into router then power up. Allow time for router to recognise internet connection and boot up completely. Then plug second ethernet into computer then power up computer. Allow enough time for the router to recognise computer and the computer to recognise router. You should be able to access internet within a few minutes. If not you might want to verify that the router is not outdated and fully functioning.

Lost intall disk

Well, i have set up several routers and they actually run better without the setup disk. as long as you know how to set it up, you it will work fine. (Setup disks tend to be over controlling of your network.)
To setup:
-Unplug your modem of all plugs.
-plug in your cable wire to the back of the modem.
-Plug in the ethernet wire from the modem to your router.
-Turn on the power(plug in) to your modem and give 2 mins.
Plug in ethernet cord from router to your computer.
-Plug in power to your router and give 30 seconds.
-power on your computer and give 1 min after start up.
-Make sure your internet is working and you are good 2 go.

Belkin router

I just worked on one of these today. Try this and see if it helps.

1. Unplug your cable or DSL modem and your wireless router

2. Plug back in the cable or DSL modem and wait for the internet to successfully connect (watch the lights).

3. Plug the wireless router back in again and wait for it to connect (again, watching the lights)

If this doesn't work, make sure you have the equipment plugged-in in the right order.

cable or dsl signal goes to modem ==> modem plugs into wireless router ===> computer plugs into wireless router.
