Well the first thing that I discover is that it has a 1 year warranty thats good. I also notice according to the manual that the faceplate is detachable try cleaaning the contacts on the headunit and or faceplace also if the faceplate was dropped the backlight may have gone out. If none of those are the case sorry to hear about problems so early in your ownership of the unit. However doing a more expansive search of Insignia as a whole they are a bargain line and unfortunately sometimes quality control is sacrificed. If cleaning the contacts doesn't fix it try the RMA route evidenty it is a brand specifically manufactured for Best Buy the website is and the customer support phone# is 877-467-4289

The display is dead by the sounds of it. Take it to the dealer if it is still under warranty. If it is not, Find a decent aftermarket deck and get it installed. OEM decks can be found on sites like eBay or, craigslist but, can be a spendy replacement.

I have installed an overhead DVD player Insignia NS-D9500. It only works when the door is opened. It turns off when the car door is closed. Did I wire wrong somewhere?

you have wired your power into the door switch circuit, you need to find switched power from the ignition such as the radio feed to splice for power to your unit.

Bmw 318i se auto clock reset problem?

a little more information would be nice but im going to make a guess
you installed a new deck in the car, now every time you turn the car off the clock resets?
if thats correct.. the deck will have 2 power inputs, one that turns the radio off when it does not have a power signal, the other that should have a constant voltage to maintain the stereo memory, now if I'm correct you have either the 2 wired opposite to how they should be or both wired to something like the ignition wire, and it is acting like the battery has been removed every time you turn off the car, which means you need to check your stereo wiring.
if this is incorrect please leave some more info telling everyone when the clock is automatically reseting.

Insignia NS-C5112 manuel. new sub getting too much sound through rca wires when turned up. sub amp shuts down. need to tune down audio in rca cables

does your new sub have a volume or gain control? If your getting the signal source from the line outs, then the volume level there is constant. You need to set it up so that it can be controlled by the main volume control.Or you might need a control pre-amplifier before your sub

I need to know why it says protect on the display screen

usually the red yellow and black are your main three that power on the deck yellow is for the batt red is for the ignition switch that tells the cd player to turn on when the key is turned and the black wire is ground (usually) depending on the car the deck wiring harness is always the same color but the harness wires vary
the illimination is usually and orange wire with a black stripe on it that needs to be hooked up if you have one so the screen turns on
p.constant is usually blue or blue with white stripe that is for amp turn on in some situations or power antenna.
